[DoEE] Company basics

Day 2,738, 02:55 Published in Australia Australia by Aus Ministry of Finance

So, you want to make yourself a pile of cash like Scrooge McDuck? Read on to understand the basics of how to run companies as a manager.

The most important thing to remember, is to take your time. Companies can only produce once every 24 hours. It is very unlikely that you will be up against a “run it or lose your chance deadline”, so please, take your time and think actions through. There is no undo button…

This is what your companies’ homepage looks like. You get to it through the My Places menu.

There are a few important things to note on this page. You can cross-reference them to the list below.

1.The checkboxes to work-as-the-manager. These boxes are green if you have already managed the company today (you can only manage once per day). Check all the boxes you want, it will make your life much easier.

2.The company image and quality. Each star is one quality rank (so you can see I have 1 Q2 food factory, 3 Q1 food factories and 1 Q1 weapons factory). Raw materials companies do not show stars (like my fisheries).

3.The raw material changes in total. Ignore the individual company numbers unless you don’t have enough raw materials (even then, just buy some more!).

4.The work tax you will pay in total. This will be deducted from your citizen’s bank account and will go to the government.

5.The “make me money!” button. Push it to manage each company you have ticked the checkbox of.

A popup window like this will appear once you push the production button.

This window tells you what products your companies have produced as a net result. The individual movements of raw materials (if you have raw materials and factories like me) are not shown. You can click on the details button for more information about how these totals were calculated (the picture above has details shown).

Company production is placed in your citizen’s storage. You get there through the My Places menu too. It looks like this:

So, you can see how much junk you’ve accumulated over your e-Life. Storage space is limited, so be mindful of the total amount of storage you are using. This page is also how you put your goods onto the market for someone else to buy, if the price is right.

Select the product you want to sell from the drop down menu (circled in the picture above). If you are selling food, weapons or housing then you also need to select the quality by clicking a star somewhere along the track. Enter your offered price (the default values here are not necessarily good!). Push the sell button, and repeat as many times as you need to clear out your storage.
