Hello all. I haven’t said much in a while, but that’s because the dictatorship demands I am politically inert and the real world has dragged me away from running fun and games/being universally entertaining and as such I have relied on silently doing what I’m always doing; pushing buttons for the government and quietly throwing money into programs I think might help engage our playerbase here in the eUK.

However, following the calls from members of Parliament and a recommendation from myself, Congress has impeached the Country President (pending final count by the Speaker), and in doing so has activated a contingency mandate written into the eUK’s Constitution. It reads that, in the event of an impeachment the current Dictator will assume the responsibilities of the head of Government for the remaining duration of the impeached President’s term.



This is a slight deviation from how ingame mechanics would work under a democracy, as you will notice whoever is second on the ballot for the previous CP election will take the ingame role of Country President. The justifications for the law being the way they are do not need to be discussed here, as my concern lies primarily with following the Constitution. I personally would not speak for or against the clause if Congress wanted to discuss it in the future.

In the time being however I am happy to preside over the Government. Contrary to what a few people have called for I do not want nor expect any Cabinet resignations, and shall carry on with Voodoomike, Vice Country President under Appleby and to all extents and purposes, Vice Country President now under myself. With no changes made to the Cabinet from his announcement the other day, I hope we now have a more dynamic and cohesive government with which to tackle the current invasion with. A handover at this point in time with only days from the next CP seems unwarrantedly turbulent. I shall do my best to keep the public updated until I handover to the next CP after Friday’s election.

I’ve done this a couple of times before, and with a pretty competent Cabinet I hope you find some reassurance in being in safe, albeit strangely hairy hands. I begun talking with the Speaker on whether it would be appropriate to propose an enabling mandate as per the terms in part 3f of the Statute book, set to expire on the 6th of August. At this point it doesn't look necessary but it remains an options open to us.
