[Department of Defense] A General Update

Day 2,843, 16:34 Published in USA USA by Senryaku

Hey there, I'm Senryaku. I've been your Secretary of Defense for the month of August. We've been on quite a down-low this month, but we have also been very busy. A few changes have been made around the block and I'm here to tell you what's up.

Arm America was a program where we gave out weapons to US citizens who came onto IRC or filled out a specific form at a specific time of the day on certain days to fight in specific battles.

I have changed Arm America so that it is now a 24/7 program, running for all of our priority battles (Which can be found on the Arm America page linked above), and to redeem your Q7 weapons for fighting, all you need to do is post a screenshot in the forum thread showing you having done the damage in a priority battle, and saying how many tanks you used.

Note, this is primarly a program for food fights, which means that we prefer not to supply people for using energy bars, only their naturally recovered energy. The most we will allow you to redeem for one battle is 100 Q7 weapons. You can find out more by clicking the Arm America link.

The USAF

In addition to reworking Arm America, I have also changed the USAF. This part is still a work in progress to some extent, but since the term is coming to an end and it might not be finished by the end of this term, I decided it would be prudent to include what we have done so far at the very least.

We have overhauled the USAF's commune system. What does this mean? It means we changed the companies we own around to be more efficient. How does this impact the normal player? They have to work twice a day. We provide the house, of course, so nothing to worry about there.

This change in commune system has also allowed us to distribute more weapons than before and still spend less than we did before. All of our savings, however, will be going towards funding new players in the form of DoDSEP, for which we have increased the daily gold handout from 0.5 gold per day to 1 gold per day. The system only distributes every other week, however, and only to those who need training grounds.

Apart from that, we have also made our commune system more flexible. The salary distribution is not entirely in place yet, but very soon we will be offering above-market wages for working more than seven times a week in our communes. We provide the house, you provide the clicks.

You can find out more about the specifics of the new system here.

So, what's the hold up? What are we still doing? What are we waiting for?

Well, as I briefly mentioned earlier, our staff of programmers are still hard at work designing and implementing a proper website and bot, one that is better than our current bot and website in many, many ways. This is the crux of the entire operation and we are currently operating on backup systems due to unforeseen delays in production. (our head tech officer's mother being hospitalized, amongst other things)

The other thing is the forums, which are still being worked on. Topics are being constructed and people are being moved around. THINGS are being done, you can rest assured on that. I'd expect this to be fully completed within the next couple of days.

So there you have it, that is largely what I've been doing this month, along with assisting in the management of the National Security Council and other such things.
