Alright, so I think updating once in two days might be a good idea. I'm not making any complete promises on that, but I guess that's definitely going to be my goal.

1. THE CROATIA DEAL, MPPs AND KARNATAKA


The Deal
The deal is concluded - there is peace in our land. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the eCroatian cabinet, present and past, for their eagerness to oblige, their easygoing and constructive approach, and general all-around awesomeness in giving us loads of money. Also, many thanks to Asmita and Hemanathan for working so hard on the deal. The money is on its way.

The deal stands as follows - 6 regions are to be rented, those being Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. We will receive 120k CC for this per month. Additionally, a one time payment of 100k CC will be made for the lost MPPs due to this transaction.

Namma Karnataka?
For those of you who are currently cursing me for changing my mind about Karnataka, Samnomix our intrepid MoFA carried out a poll in which by a thumping majority people seemed okay with renting out the region, save 2 votes against. That said, it is true that some people were concerned about the amount of faith we are placing in Croatia. I have three responses to that.

First, I can personally state that Croatia has, through the course of this negotiating process (the part of which I was involved in) behaved impeccably. They have never pushed any sense of entitlement and superiority onto us, and there has been a clear undercurrent of bonhomie. These are not, to my mind, insidious threats - but brothers that we can help to our mutual benefit.

Second,this article, written by the one many consider to be our greatest mentor and writer, Ashwamedh, clearly shows that even in the past, Croatia and China have been our allies. We should show them the trust they have earned.

Third, (and this should really settle it) we shall get EDEN representatives to stand as witnesses and guarantors of the deal - such that if there is non payment, there will be some recourse that we have. Beyond this, there is little that we can do.

MPPs
We have managed to get an unprecedented 8 MPPs in the works, and more are coming along. Rest assured, when we need our allies, they are standing by us! And we should be happy. In fact, earlier today, we (I mean I, really, but it is less embarrassing when I say 'we' and pretend that more people are involved) had a near heart attack when we thought that the Croatian auto-attack on Kerala would cancel the MPPs yet again. 🙂 But because the auto-attack happened before the MPPs, no harm was done. 😃 A lucky break, but I apologize for not having been more careful - in fact, we all do.

2. PLATO HATES US

For some inexplicable reason, Plato is not letting our donate link work. This is obviously a pain in the ass, especially because the eCroatian payment is expected. Additionally complicating things is the fact that our MoF, Rebelash, will be in transit tomorrow. In the meantime, I am asking our Croatian allies to transfer the funds to me - so I request all dispatchers (I know I'm putting myself into a lot of trouble, here) to message me their current level of stocks so I can send them the required food and weapons. I apologize for all these stupid delays, but there really isn't much we can do.

3. THE n00b MU

So xordin is hard at work and has come up with an admirable plan to run the MU. His conception of it, as revealed to me, sounds perfectly plausible and definitely efficient. However, he is in addition to being good at this job also lazy when it comes to writing articles (hint, hint, xordin. Hint, hint.) Please encourage him to write (in other words, please slap him with trout and any other fish you can manage in IRC) until he publishes that article. 😛

4. MARCOS REFORM
As seen from Forter's article, most of eIndia is not too keen on getting 4 MUs for each division at the altar of efficiency. We appreciate your feedback, and the consensus seems to be two MUs - the n00b MU having Division 1 and Division 2, and the adult MU (Heh) having Division 3 and 4. If this is what the country wants, this is what we will work towards.
