[CP] Resume and North Sea Protection Pact

Day 2,388, 22:47 Published in Germany Germany by Bundeskanzleramt

Hello eGermany

My first term as CP of this country comes to a close today, time for a resume.
For Germany this was a relatively quiet month, where the main diplomatic struggles where elsewhere. We got through the Determination reset with Poland pretty cleanly after we finished the last steps of the liberation of the UK.
And whilst AURORA proved to be stable, even after the short hiccups in beginning. Same cannot be said about every alliance, as we saw Sirius shrinking and shifting. It will be important how Germany (and AURORA) will deal with this new situation with all its possibilities and dangers. This poses a challenge for the next CP that i am hopeful he can master.

Regarding interior politics i have to admit that i did not live up to the expectations and aims i set for myself. I did not manage to produce/help produce a significant amount of community relevant projects as i hoped for.
Regarding those though: I hope you will all participate in the World Cup Competition proposed by NeueN.

And now on to recent developments regarding Germark.
I am very pleased to inform you that the NSPP-’North Sea Protection Pact’ has just been signed by all member nations after being approved by each congress and will be active from this day change on. The NSPP is a defensive Partnership between the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Germark, (treaty text below).
In conjunction with this, the NAP with Asgard has ended, as no side asked for an extension of the NAP.

I hereby leave you to be governed by who ever you see fit to elect today.
signing out.

North Sea Protection Pact - N$PP
Pact between
The United Kingdom, Belgium, Germarkian Union and Netherlands

Article I: Preamble
Recognising that the countries of the United Kingdom, Belgium, The Germarkian Union (Germany and Denmark) as well as the Netherlands have been bound in mutual friendship for a long time by now, so with the following articles we seek to foster greater cooperation as well as to deepen our longstanding bonds.

Emphasising that close cooperation and continuing good relations between our countries builds a great foundation for coordinated efforts and thus ensuring the future sustained regional integrity of each member Nation.

Article II: Terms of Agreement
There will be no direct and/or indirect aggression between the signing states. There shall be no Natural Enemy (NE), Air Strike (AS) or Declaration of War (DoW) proposed on each other. If there happens to be a Natural Enemy, Air Strike or Declaration of War proposal by any congressman in each country, it should be voted down
1. If it happens to pass, it will be violating the treaty, and the country will be removed from the pact.
2. The only exception to this clause is if the NE, AS or DoW is requested by the target nation. For example: the occupation of a region/nation in order to protect it from outer aggression (closing wars etc.)

Article III: (Expanded) Terms of Agreement
1. In the event that a member Country is attacked, MPPs between the attacked member and the other signers must be proposed immediately. If a member cannot afford an MPP it must be announced to the other members immediately for extra support or help with cost
2. A country that holds a border with the aggressor is encouraged but not enforced to declare it as a NE and thereby open a war with the attacking nation.
3. If a member country is attacked all other member countries should have state military units set priorities and have the government organize fighting to aid the member
4. The only exception to this Article is the procedure of region-swaps, rentals and occupations that have previously been agreed upon in a contract.

Article IV: Joint Strike
The participating Countries hereby agree to hold a Joint Strike at least once a month (each presidential term) to strengthen the coordination between the countries as well as the military power of the pact. The Joint Strike has the option to be supplied, and will take place in #NSPP.Strike , the official strike channel of the pact

Article V: Communications
Two official channels will be set up for the purposes of communication, as stated in Article IV, the channel #NSPP.Strike , will be used for joint strikes. Additionally the channel #NSPP will be used for coordination and meetings involving the pact as well as day to day communications. Trusted members of each country and the pact will be given control over the channel and maintain control from term to term.
The Pact has the option of electing a Chairman of the NSPP to oversee communications, Amendments and a variety of other tasks.

Article VI: Amendments and renewal
1. The treaty shall be renewed automatically each month unless a member country chooses to exit, which must be announced to the other members before leaving.
2. The treaty may be rewritten once a member nation requests for a rewrite and after a vote has been held to begin the process of rewriting the treaty. In the case that a rewriting of the pact is requested, the old contract will stay active till the process of rewriting is completed, but it may not take longer than 3 days.
3. In case more than 3 days pass before the Countries can agree on a new wording, the treaty will be treated as inactive but will resume effect once a rewritten version is agreed upon.

Article VII: Violation of the Treaty
In case a member violates the terms of agreement (Article II, Article III), said member shall be removed from the pact and they shall no longer benefit from the treaty.

[DE]

Hallo eDeutschland
