Join the new world

Gegroet, burgers van Nederland,

Dit is het laatste artikel en mijn laatste woorden gericht aan jullie als president. Voor de meesten van jullie al het een opluchting zijn dat er na drie achtereenvolgende maanden van mijn presidentschap een nieuwe regering en president gekozen zal worden om Nederland te leiden in deze interessante tijden. Desalniettemin, wil ik jullie nog iets belangrijks meegeven.



In een tijd span van 2 jaar heeft Nederland een grote stap voorwaarts gemaakt op zoals intern als extern gebied. Sommige van jullie kunnen zich misschien nog wel herinneren hoe presidenten niet gekozen worden om de plannen die ze hadden maar simpelweg omdat er geen andere kandidaten beschikbaar waren. Tijden waarin de Nederlandse politiek gevoerd werd buiten het toeziend oog van onze medeburgers. Tijden waar Nederland als het gaat om oorlogsvoering altijd ergens onder aan de tabel terug te vinden was. Slechts een enkele keer deden wij mee met wereld gebeurtenissen. Twee jaar geleden heeft een groep van mensen besloten om een nieuwe koers te zetten. Zij geloofde hoewel het bijna uitzichtloos was in een beter en sterker Nederland. Langzaam maar zeker begon deze koers zijn vruchten af te werpen en is het hen gelukt!



Sommige van deze mensen zijn niet langer bij ons om de fakkel vast te houden en andere mee te nemen in deze nieuwe koers. Andere hebben stug doorgezet en en blijven zich constant inzetten voor Nederland. Mensen zoals, Shawtyl0w, NoTie112, MDSanderon, Spir Tus, Willem the Conqueror, Gwom, Maarten W, ElGorro, Weekstrom, Mark Decius, Zeeuwsmeisje, Legendardisch, Kordak, Arcanic Mindje, Koning der Zeeuwe, Mael Dunbar, BangIades, Van Der Kaczy, Fmcv, Henry Ackerman, rainy sunday... en vele anderen hebben hun stempel om de Nederlandse geschiedenis weten te drukken. Samen hebben zij veel bereikt:

- Het complete herschrijven van het Nederlands wetboek
- Het introduceren van verscheidene regeringsprogramma’s
- Het verhogen van de media activiteit
- Het verlagen van belasting percentages
- Het bouwen van staats- (Q7 wapen) fabrieken
- Het deelnemen aan verschillende echte oorlogen

…en de lijst gaat zo eindeloos door. Terwijl andere kleine landen in eRepublik steeds passiever werden, heeft Nederland het voor elkaar gekregen om het tegenovergestelde te doen. Wij werden en worden steeds actiever! Dit ging langzaam maar gestaag klommen wij uit het dal dat de inactiviteit weerspiegeld. We zijn recentelijk toegetreden tot de Hydra alliantie waar wij zij aan zij staan naast grote landen zoals Letland, Litouwen en Macedonië.



Natuurlijk, het ging niet altijd vlekkeloos en perfect. We hebben fouten gemaakt. Dingen gingen niet altijd zoals wij dat verwacht hadden. Dit is nou eenmaal zoals dingen gaan in het leven. Niets gaat altijd zoals wij dat graag gezien of gepland hadden. Het belangrijkste is dat Nederland nooit is om uitdagingen aan te gaan en obstakels te overwinnen. Samen hebben wij altijd een weg gevonden om door te gaan en onze koers aan te houden.



Natuurlijk is het navigeren van een land als Nederland door dit nieuwe tijdperk gaan makkelijke opdracht. De politieke leiders van de toekomst zullen nieuwe problemen en obstakels moeten tackelen. Tegelijkertijd is het belangrijk dat Nederland nooit haar unieke stijl van spelen en haar sterke wil verliest. Mensen met een militaire instelling en ervaring zullen moeten samenwerken met mensen die meer gericht zijn op het bouwen van de (online)gemeenschap. Mensen die impulsief en onbedacht reageren op kansen zullen moeten samenwerken met mensen die bedachtzaam en voorzichtig te werk gaan. Het is belangrijk dat er een balans gevonden wordt en deze niet omslaan naar of wel onbedacht actie ondernemen of wel kansen missen door te langzaam te reageren. Dit is hoe Nederland een fel schijnende ster blijft die niet zomaar uit de hemel verdwijnt.



Het zal uitdaging zijn, maar ik hoop met heel mijn hart dat Nederland hier goed doorheen slaat. Als dit lukt zal ik blij en trots zijn als ik over een paar jaar terug kijk naar dit Nederland. Ik hoop dat jullie tegen die tijd ook blij en trots zullen zijn dan terug denkend wat we samen hebben bereikt.

Dit is het dan ongeveer wel. Als je tot bent blijven lezen, dankjewel. Als je naar het eind bent geskipt is dat ook prima. Ik wens jullie allemaal een goede dag en/of nacht. Zorg er voor dat Nederland in goede handen blijft.. zo niet dan zullen jullie ooit weer van mij horen 😛.





Greetings, citizens of Netherlands,

this will be the last article and last words from me towards you. For most, it will certainly be a relief after three months of my Presidency, as the new President and new government will be elected to lead Netherlands in these interesting times. Nevertheless, allow me to say just a few more words.



In the span of last two years, Netherlands has made a huge step forward both internally and externally. Some of you might still remember the times, when Presidents were elected not because they had plans, but because there was simply no other volunteer to candidate. Times, when Dutch politics was held outside of the public view. Times, when Netherlands was sitting at the bottom of damage table, being only occasionally a participant in the events of the world. Two years ago, a group of people decided to change that course against all odds, believing Netherlands deserves to do better. And slowly, but surely, they have succeeded.



Some of those people are no longer around bearing the torch, but others have picked it up, not faltering once and constantly pushing Netherlands forward. People like Shawtyl0w, NoTie112, MDSanderon, Spir Tus, Willem the Conqueror, Gwom, Maarten W, ElGorro, Weekstrom, Mark Decius, Zeeuwsmeisje, Legendardisch, Kordak, Arcanic Mindje, Koning der Zeeuwe, Mael Dunbar, BangIades, van der Kaczy, Fmcv, Henry Ackermann, rainy sunday... and many others all left their mark on Dutch history throughout the past few years. Together, they have achieved many things:

- Complete overhaul of Lawbook
- Introduction of various Governmental programs
- Higher media activity
- Lower Tax Rates
- Building of new Q7 State Factories
- Participation in various real wars

...and the list could go on. While other smaller nations were becoming more and more passive, Netherlands managed to achieve the exact opposite thanks to work of these individuals. And slowly, but surely, we climbed up, culminating for many during last month, when we have joined the alliance of Hydra, standing side by side by big nations of Latvia, Lithuania and Macedonia.



Of course, things were not perfect all the times, some mistakes were done, some things did not end up exactly as they should - but that is the story of the life, nothing ever goes 100% according to the plan. The important thing is that Netherlands never got scared of those obstacles, and always managed to find a way to overcome them.



As noted at the title of the article, when one era ends, another begins. During the last two years, Netherlands went through era of rebuilding and reinventing itself, creating (hopefully) a strong basis for future events to come. That era is slowly coming to the end, even though there is still some work left to do. Not only for governments, but for ordinary citizens as well - whether it is building more factories, getting more medals, seeking more information about the game, etc. Now, however, comes the era of Strong Netherlands. Netherlands, which will always aim high, and will be in the center of things to come. Netherlands, which will not get lost while facing tough enemies directly, on indirectly via helping its numerous allies. Netherlands, to which other countries will look out as a nation of inspiration.



Of course, steering Netherlands through such an era will not be an easy task. The political leaders of the future will have to tackle problems, which we didn't have to tackle before, all while making sure Netherlands will avoid losing it's unique spirit and style of game. People with military prowess and experience will have to work together with people with sense for community. People, who like to rush into things immediately without thinking, will have to work with people, who prefer to be more cautious. A delicate balance will have to be set up, so Netherlands remains a bright shining star, which does not go down with one blow of the wind.



It will be challenging - but I hope, with all my heart, that Netherlands will manage just fine. And that in few years, I will be able to look back at Netherlands, and be happy and proud. And that you will be happy and proud as well.
