[CP] [DfA] Loose ends

Day 1,958, 20:14 Published in Australia Australia by DraimAlexander

I promised myself that I would only go for a 2nd term of CP if I thought that I had started in a direction I thought was good for Australia and if I thought that there were still loose ends that I wanted to try and do. After thinking long and hard I’ve decided that both of those are true.

Therefore, I am announcing my intention to run again for a 2nd term

For the past couple months we have been wondering what direction we should go with MPPs and Alliances. For a long time we sat still, basically hoping we could end up with CoT or TWO. While we did this we had limited allies and even more limited MPPs. Many of our former allies either didn’t want to conflict with Chile or were frustrated by us leaving them (or we were afraid to flip back). For a long time I counted myself in the group that said we could hold our ground and we’d come out ok on the other side. The last piece of that was the CoT court ruling where many hoped we’d catch a break. Even when we all realized we weren’t going to, many still wanted to hold on ‘just in case.

I made a promise to myself that I was going to do everything in my power to make decisions based on what was in front of us and not wait for others to get back. That was more difficult to do while we were still waiting for the Court ruling but with enormous effort from all sides of the government we were finally able to do so. We worked together to form the NaN alliance with South Africa and have started building up our MPP roster again with 6 currently another 3-4 at different levels of discussion. We have started to stand up for ourselves, even where it isn’t easy.

We have multiple countries who have talked to South Africa and us about joining NaN. I want to continue to work with them to expand it into a larger group of tight friends. I believe there is a lot of potential and I’m not feeling exactly ready to hand it off.

With the help of many but especially the MoD, Valentyme, we fought a crazy battle to keep congress. The first checkpoint being made by hours and then the others being made by a strong fight to free NT. After that we turned our eyes towards beating NZ for the gold mine with the help of domestic tanks both new and old. The recent Victoria RW stopped us from freeing NSW when we wanted to but I think we can still get some out of it and I for one am going to work my ass off to do so.

I am proud of our forces over the past couple weeks, I am confident we can do what we want to do

My MoD started the process of looking at concrete options to try and replace or reform the ADF. They may not work, they may not last but I think they deserve a try. I will not allow the ADF to disappear overnight, as options are tried they will need to be phased up as we find out how they can work and teach people they exist and at the same time the ADF will phase down once it looks like it should. That phase down could end up complete (if the new options replace it well enough) or it could be partial (some level of supplies to some soldiers or all) or it could just be a phase to a new version of the ADF. These are all options and if something doesn’t work we go back. We have made the mistake of just flipping the switch on the ADF before, it doesn’t work. Sadly this didn’t get as far along as I would have liked because we became busy with the Congress and Gold Mine fights.

I think we can still do a lot here and want to give Valentyme the chance to try his ideas out. We have little to lose

I know Wageslave and Reximus restarted Centrelink. I am excited about this but did not get the time to focus on them that I would like. This is depressing to me, I spent the time focusing on NaN and the battles but I think there is a lot more to do here.

If I have another term I want to spend some more time here, figure out what’s working well and how we can support our new players more. I know a ton is done by private individuals, and that may be best, but I want to more fully understand it

The past couple days have been tough because of the Easter holidays. Tomorrow (erep day 1959) is going to be a bit rough but I will be back home by later evening erep, with full internet and my full and undivided attention will be back here. Expect more articles and more of my thoughts but if you have questions or concerns please say them.

I am proud of what I have accomplished over the past month, I think that I have one more month in me for now to continue along this path and show the world we may be small, but we’re scrappy.
