Миналата седмица Канада напусна ЕДЕН и привлекоха вниманието на доста хора тук. Това им действие беше последвано на другия ден от следващ изненадващ ход – президента им Sperry разпродаде фирмите си и напусна играта преди да свърши мандата му. Официалното обяснение беше, че е осъзнал колко ненормално е да се отделя толкова време на една игра. Разбира се му беше пуснат импийчмънт, който обаче не беше приет и така Канада изкарва последната седмица без реално да има президент. Основният кандидат за президент през другия месец Nosyt беше издигнат от най-многобройната партия. Два часа преди да изтече срока за кандидатиране за президент той пусна статия, в която казва, че няма да му е интересно да победи като кандидат на най-голямата партия, напусна я и основа нова, като успя да събере набързо 7 члена и така успя да се кандидатира наново. За да видя и гледната точка на еКанадците върху всички тези събития реших да взема интервю, като се спрях на министъра им на външните работи Plugson. ega😛 Кажи с няколко думи кой си ти в РЖ и в играта?

Plugson: В РЖ съм обикновен човек от работническата класа с две деца, голяма ипотека, втора работа и времемко хоби, което се опитвам да ограничавам. В ерепублик съм еКанадец от 2008, като стоях надалеч от политиката до този месец, когато Sperry ме покани заМВнР. Така натрупах опит и научих много за играта и другите нации.

ega😛 Преди няколко дни Канада напусна ЕДЕН. Каква е настоящата ситуация – има ли разлика в отношенията ви със съюзниците ви?

Plugson: Досега не съм забелязал някаква промяна. Връзките ми с другите МВнР са добри и нямаме проблеми при подновяването на МПП с държавите от ЕДЕН. Sperry направи всичко възможно решението ни да не се приема като някакво пререкание с ЕДЕН. Имахме проблеми с координацията на военните планове с двата щаба през последния месец и решихме да опростим нещата, но все още сме добър приятел на ЕДЕН.

ega😛 Има ли възможност следващия ви президент да наложи вето на решението на парламента ви и отново да намерите място на дървото на ЕДЕН?

Plugson: Не мисля, че е възможно, защото направихме поправка на конституцията си и вече вето може да се направи до 7 дни след приемането на закона, така че ще е късно следващия президент да върне нещата. Все пак ако президента реши може да постави на гласуване ново кандидатстване в ЕДЕН, но това едва ли ще стане, още повече че никой от кандидатите не е повдигал този въпрос.

ega😛 Сегашният ви президент Sperry напусна играта преди края на мандата му, което не се случва за пръв път в Канада. Защо се стигна до там и защо парламента не прие импичмънта му?

Plugson: Импичмънтът беше предложен от депутат, който напусна страната и другите приеха действието му като да го прави напук. Същевременно президента искаше да се оттегли, но не успя да се свърже с мен, за да пусна аз закона. Получи се неразбирателство, а и Sperry беше много популярен, което доведе до бързото натрупване на много „Против” закона. За щастие това се случва в края на мандата.

ega😛 Много от изявените ви политици напуснаха Канада преди 3 месеца, което доведе до много нови лица в политиката, които се кандидатираха и за президент. Това може ли да доведе до промяна на външната ви политика?

Plugson: Никога не се знае какво могат да променят новите лица. Обсъждали сме го помежду си. Все пак фаворитите на следващите президентски избори (Rylde и Nosyt) ще подкрепят съюзниците ни от Терра, така че не очаквам сериозни промени във външната ни политика.

ega😛 Един от кандидатите е Rylde. Той е най-опитния, но до скоро беше шведски гражданин и се биеше за ONE. Мислиш ли, че ако спечели Канада може да напусне Терра и да се насочи към друг съюз?

Plugson: Rylde ни увери, че въпреки че обича да си прави шоуто и да прави саркастични коментари, все пак е отдаден на работата с Терра. Все пак ако се стигне до там не мисля, че парламента и хората ще се съгласят с подобно решение.

ega😛 Виждам коментари на много канадци, че искат война с Ирландия. Сегашните президент и МВнР са бивши еКанадци. Какви са ви отношенията?

Plugson: Имаше известни търкания между Канада и Ирландия, което в повечето случаи беше пресилено. До колкото знам Sperry искаше да им даде урок как да се отнасят към ЕДЕН и въпреки че имаше притеснения, че ситуацията може да прерасне в нещо друго, така и не се стигна до враждебност. Канадците, които искат да воюват с тях са малцинство и според мен нещата просто трябва да не се нажежават допълнително, а постепенно да се охладят.

ega😛 През последния месец Канада гласува много закони за ембарго, но не и срещу България. Защо?

Plugson: България е специален случай. Докато другите държави, на които наложихме ембарго са директни поддръжници на ONE, то не бяхме много сигурни какво да правим с България. Все пак ние ще подновим МПП с Турция, така че сме далеч от това да сме на българска страна, но все още изчакваме да видим как ще се развие пътя на България. Бях разочарован от обстоятелствата при които напуснахте ЕДЕН, но не сме готови да ви подкрепим по новия път. Sperry определяше на кого да се наложи ембарго, така че е възможно да се е надявал да се разбираме цивилизовано помежду си.

ega😛 Ако Канада и България искат да са отново съюзници трябва да се случи едно от двете. Първото е Канада да напусне Терра и да се присъедини към „Тъмните сили”. Втората опция е Терра да се разграничи от ЕДЕН и България да се присъедини към тях. Кое е по-вероятно да се случи?

Plugson: Първо искам да кажа, че не очаквам което и да е от двете да се случи. Има прекалено много фактори, които ни разделят. Все пак щом си поставил въпроса, кое е по вероятно да се случи, бих избрал България да се присъедини към Терра. Има прекалено малък шанс Канада да зареже САЩ и приятелите си от Терра, за да се съюзи с България. Канада е приела играта да се развива бавно и монотонно и не сме настроени за резки промени, докато България е по-отворена за нови и различни пътища за развитие. Като се замисля съм сигурен съм, че в бъдеще ще бъдем съюзници в Терра.

ega😛 Би ли приел да си МВнР и в бъдеще?

Plugson: Едва ли. РЖ изисква да му отделям повече от вниманието ми, от колкото да съм МВнР, а и не искам да свършва като другите, които прегарят. Ще се оттегля от политиката, за да се наслаждавам на времето с децата ми и на лятото.

The last week Canada left EDEN and caught many people’s attention. On the next day their president Sperry left the game. For this and many other issues I asked for an interview the Canadian MoFA Plugson. Hope you’ll enjoy it.


ega😛 Say few words about who you are both in RL and in erepublik.

Plugson: In RL, I’m a fairly average working-class guy with two kids, a big mortgage, a second job, and a time-consuming hobby that I try to keep limits on. As for in eRep, I’ve been a citizen of eCanada since 2008 who usually stayed on the outskirts of politics and country administration. At least, that’s the way I played the game until Sperry asked me to be his MoFA for May. Knowing he was a great guy to work with, I took the offer and started my first Cabinet position in 3.5 years of playing this game. It’s been quite the experience so far and I’ve learned a lot about the game and other nations in it.

ega😛 Few days ago Canada left EDEN. I guess you had a lot PM to write to MoFA’s and Presidents. What is the current situation – is there any differences in the relations with your allies?

Plugson: So far I have not seen any change in relations. My communications with other MoFAs have gone well and our MPP renewal requests with EDEN nations have been met favourably. Sperry did what he could to ensure eCanada’s decision was not because of any problem we had with EDEN itself. We were having trouble coordinating battle plans between two different HQs and it caused a few issues this past month. I believe most EDEN members can accept that we wanted to simplify our command structure but still remain supporters of EDEN as we align our orders through TERRA instead. It is my feeling that eCanada is still a good friend of EDEN nations.

ega😛 Is there any possibility that the next president may veto this decision of the Congress and then Canada may find again its place on the EDEN tree?

Plugson: No, I don’t believe a veto is possible, simply because an amendment was made to our Charter that limits vetos to 7 days after the fact. Therefore, it would be too late for an easy veto of the vote. If the CP did want to revisit the topic, there would have be a completely new debate around it. Plus, I believe we would need to re-apply for membership at that point. So, I don’t see a quick change happening on that front. Most of the CPs running have not made that an issue, either.

ega😛 Your current president Sperry left the game before the end of his term. That is not the first time when your presidents behave this way. Why this happens and why doesn’t the Congress impeached him and this way left Canada with no president for almost a week?

Plugson: The impeachment was made by a Congressmen who left the country, so it was intended as a ‘lulz vote.’ Coincidentally, Sperry had been wanting to step down but had been unable to contact me to make the proposal. I believe if things had been done properly, Congress would not have been surprised by the sudden impeachment vote and would have voted according to Sperry’s wishes. Unfortunately, the lulz vote had the consequence of fouling up the rightful impeachment process. Plus, Sperry was a very popular leader here, so I can understand why people voted “Not” right away when they say the proposal and did not know the full story yet. Luckily, this happened near the end of term.

ega😛 After most of your elite politicians left eCanada 3 months ago there is no that big choice of experienced players who would run for president and I see some new faces looking for glory. May this lead to more changes in Canada’s foreign affairs?

Plugson: One can never know what a new set of faces will bring to the table. I know I’ve been discussing with other players what will come in the next month or two. Yet, I do know that the frontrunners in he current election (Rylde and Nosyt) would support our alliance with TERRA members. As such, I do not see any major shifts in our foreign affairs right now.

ega😛 One of the candidates is Rylde. He is the most experienced one but in the past he fought for Sweden (ONE). Part of his cabinet are Rolo and Wally who both like to piss off the other Canadians. Do you think that if he wins Canada may leave Terra too and join other alliance?

Plugson: Rylde has assured us that, while he does like to put on a good show and use lots of sarcastic comments, he is still committed to working with TERRA. He’s said this several times in various places, so he’s not being sarcastic on that one! : )
Even if a rogue CP wanted to stir up such changes, I don’t believe Congress and the players of eCanada would tolerate it.

ega😛 I see that many Canadians want a war against Ireland. The current Irish MoFA and President are both former eCanadians. What are your relations?

Plugson: Some feathers were ruffled between Canada and Ireland lately, due to some perceptions of how Ireland was advancing its interests in Denmark and Sweden, plus with its UK treaty. For the most part, I think it’s just some posturing between Ireland and Canada. I know Sperry wanted to put up a stance of ‘tough love’ towards Ireland so that they started to pay better attention to its role in EDEN. I’ve had contact with a couple Irish leaders and while there were some concerns expressed, there are not any overt hostilities. I’ve decided to let it be and put the boiling pot on the backburner. While there are is a small set of players in eCanada that have some bad feelings toward Ireland, the majority of players here are not interested in causing trouble with a long time ally that has supported us repeatedly in the past. Both sides need to cool off for a bit.

ega😛 In the past month the Canadian congress voted many trading embargoes but not to Bulgaria. Why is that so?

Plugson: Bulgaria may be a special case. While the other countries we embargoed were direct supporters of ONE, we were not quite sure what to make of Bulgaria. Keep in mind that we are in the process of renewing our MPP with Turkey, so we are far from being on ‘Bulgaria’s side’ yet I do believe we were hoping to see how Bulgaria proceeded in the next while. I know I was disappointed to you leave EDEN under less than perfect circumstances, yet eCanada is certainly not about to become supporters of Bulgaria yet. Sperry was calling the shots on embargoes so it’s possible he wanted to keep things civil between our two countries (too bad I can’t ask him now). I know there are many lingering connections between EDEN members and Bulgaria that need to get sorted out in the days ahead.

ega😛 If Canada and Bulgaria want to be allies again in the future there are two options. The first one is Canada to leave Terra and join the Dark side. The second one is Terra to find its way separate from EDEN and then Bulgaria may join Terra. Which one do you think is more likely to happen?

Plugson: First off, I would say neither has a strong chance of happening. There are too many factors keeping us at opposite ends.

However, since you would like me to say which is more likely than the other, I would have to go with Bulgaria joining Terra. There is little chance Canada would do a complete change by abandoning eUSA and other Terra members to ally with Bulgaria and the Dark Side. (ha, your words not mine). eCanada has had long-time connections in Terra and also still has strong ties to EDEN. We play a rather slow and dull game, and are not prone to exciting and surprising changes like Bulgaria has been. History would indicate that Canada would likely continue on as it has always done, while Bulgaria would be more open to new and creative ways of playing the game.

Now that I think about it, certainly Canada and Bulgaria will become Terra allies someday in the future ; ) ha! But more seriously, as we support Turkey, I do wonder how Bulgaria’s relations will develop into the future. It will be more interesting and dynamic than ones in eCanada.

ega😛 Would you like to be MoFA again in the future?

Plugson:Not very likely. My RL life requires more attention than being MoFA, and I do not want to end up like other players who burn-out. I plan to take a backseat in politics and foreign affairs so that I can enjoy time with my kids outside this summer.
