[AMP] PP Primary and Change of Command

Day 1,882, 10:34 Published in USA USA by emdoublegee

Well folks, here it is. Probably one of the most heated and controversial Party Primaries AMP has ever had, certainly as long as I’ve been around. This month’s primary pitted the up and coming Dr Luis Sentieiro against the returning former Party President, Haliman.

Before I give you the results for this Primary, I have a few things that I want to say. Bear with me, as this is important.

First off, I want to mention the security issues we had in this election. After the primary closed, myself and my security director sat down and hammered out any inconsistencies there were in voters. We had an IES issue, one too “young” to vote, and a multi issue.

We also had 2 sets of voters who had the exact same IP addresses and those are the ones that I want to address. Having never heard of any of them before, and with no evidence to the contrary, we labelled them as multi’s and removed them. When I made the first announcement of the count, I made a mention that if people had issues, to contact us and we would explain our reasons. I went to bed, and woke up to a huge shitstorm of why we were removing votes of long time trusted members and the like. The reason we did so, was because that was what the evidence we had said, and we were trying to keep this as fair and above board as we could. More information came out and after talking with a vast many sources, we reversed our decision to discount those votes.

I want to take a moment and apologize to those players, both personally and from the Party, for any inconvenience or slander this may have caused them. It was not our intention to bring doubt to their honor or loyalties. It was through ignorance of who they were as members of this community, and the use of the same computer, and I am sorry.

I am sorry onnex
I am sorry ollizu
I am sorry redbirdusa
I am sorry jon barack bluejacket

I hope that you can forgive me and the party, and that you can see the reason we initially discounted your votes.

With that out of the way, let me announce the results of the January AMP Presidential Primary!

Haliman - 34
Dr Luis Sentieiro - 32

Congratulations to both candidates on a hard fought race, and especially to the victor Haliman. I ask that anyone who is currently an in game candidate for PP remove themselves, and call upon AMP members to vote for Haliman tomorrow in the Party President Elections.

Change of Command

This is already TL😉R but I don’t want to have another article so close after this one, so if you were only here for the results you got them. But now i want to get sentimental for a bit.

I started this game in May, and quickly was enamored with the community that is here. The game itself is meh, but the people playing this game are what kept me here. AMP has always been home for me, every since I met David Wilson and Israel Stevens my first week. David was awesome, and got me set up and moving in the right direction. I miss that guy. It wasn’t just him though, AMP was full of players that I enjoyed meeting and were both helpful, as well as fun to be around.

When I started I did not imagine that I would ever be in this position. I had no idea what I was doing, what I wanted to become. But it just kind of evolved over time. I have always been in this for the people, so I got plugged in with the Department of Education. I worked in AMP comm for a while, making sure that the party was kept up to date with goings ons. When the chance came for me to make a run at Party President and have even more opportunity to help out this community, I jumped for it and haven’t looked back. My goal these two terms has been to make AMP a better place, and to promote our community. This game is only as good as the people that play it, and I wanted to give as much to you guys as I could.

Like I said earlier, I have been playing this game since May, so a little over 8 months. I have had a bunch of roles in this party, in different MU’s, and and in the federal government. I have gotten a bit burnt out on the whole thing, in part because of the constant bickering and backstabbing that exists in this game. If something isn’t done the way an individual or group of individuals feel it should be done, it is wrong and the person is slammed for it. It is petty, and it takes all the fun out of the game. I’m sick and tired of it all, so I will be stepping back from federal jobs for at least a month or two as well after this term. That doesn’t mean i’m going anywhere, just refocusing on what this is: A GAME, and getting back to the fun and community that there was when I first started.

Well, that was a lot, but those are my feelings right now. I look forward to continuing to play this game, and getting to know a lot more of you! Definitely feel free to hit me up in the IRC, I’ll be spending a lot more time just hanging out there now that I won’t be “working” as much!
