[ADP] Mark for... what?!

Day 2,364, 14:38 Published in Australia United Kingdom by MarkTD

Hello, I'm Mark and this is my manifesto for Party President of the Australian Democractic Party come the 15th.

...yeah. Me. Party President. Close your mouth, there are flies around y'know!

This term has seen an explosion in the number of members of what was once a defunct, inactive party. It's no secret that a large majority of the party is composed of new players - the membership of the party has also overtaken prosperous parties like the ARP, and the ANP! As a new player myself, I believe I can accurately represent you all, but that's for you to decide, my party members 😃

Next term, if I am elected, I will aim to maintain and sustain the fruits of the current leadership in ADP. The unprecedented boost of the last term will be near impossible to replicate, but I'm confident that with sensible, clear goals, I can continue with another month of success.

Of course, it's not easy to step in the shoes of a leader of one of the main parties in the country; it never is. But rest assured, be there a disaster, I will do my best to weather it... but remember - eAustralia first, party second! The reverse may sometimes be successful for the party, but no one wants a zombie party at the helm of an entire nation!

I will outline and explain my goals as follows:

1. Help improve our image.

Through conversations with some non-ADP members, it has become apparent to me that the ADP can be seen as hostile to the older players. Whilst I feel that 'poaching' old players would be a pretty hard job, I do aim to improve the party's image in that sense under my reign.

2. Help the party communicate better.

We all know that the key to teamwork is communication. Therefore, I will aim to promote the use of the IRC Channel (knowing how to use IRC is very valuable for young players), and help stir up more activity in the ADP section of the forums. We can also hope that a party version of the in game chat is made, though, of course, only the admins can decide that.

3. Help out a small party [in the eventuality of a Congress election]

I am definitely, in the happenstance that we have a region on the 25th, going to help a member from a small party into Congress, as a show of goodwill. This (should 😛) improve our standing with the smaller parties; they're all pretty awesome in their own right, they just don't have the numbers 😃

4. HAVE FUN!

Halfway through writing this, I realised it is much too serious for such a fun party 😃 I'm not exactly leaping to change the entire article, but this is my main goal. This whole party started for a CP election, but I hope to solidify it in eAustralia next term, and bring all my awesome colleagues with me!

Stay awesome, amigos 🙂
