World Chess Cup R5

Day 3,107, 10:21 Published in Switzerland Switzerland by Swiss Dep. of Education

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Today we open the fifth round of the World Chess Cup which means we are only 1 step close to the quarter finals.

In an unexpected twist of events we have a new runner-up, zarboutz, while LordVetinari fells behind by 1 point.
The leaderboard still has 2 champions with impeccable score zagreb and SilverFOX. But as the chineese saying goes: "No mountain can be ruled by 2 lions!"
Who will triumph into the next stage? Who is your favorite?
Let us know in the comments 🙂

The strongest three champions will have a combined prize of 45k up for grabs.

This is the current status of the competitors:

7 people remain from whom 2 have 1 KO(Geneg and Cmurgh) and 1 has 2 KOs(mina1972).

And now a twist in the rules as well:
In the next phase only 4 people will be able to qualify, meaning only the 4 players with the highest scores will be able to pass.

Knowing this I hope you will want to be in your best condition and try to act serious because this is your only ticket to the finale.

The pairings are as follows:
VS
Geneg[UTC+01:00] VS LordVetinari[UTC+02:00]
VS
zagreb[UTC+01:00] VS SilverFOX[UTC+07:00]
VS
Cmurgh[UTC+01:00] VS mina1972[UTC+02:00]

And zarboutz[UTC+02:00] will be able to choose his opponent himself this round.

I wish them all good luck in this round 🙂
Due to the seriousness of this round they have 120 hours to finish it.
