Why you don't use anything other than Q7

Why you don't use anything other than Q7
In times long past I used to get into many discussions with MUs about why they should not drop to supplying Q6 weaponry when times got tough financially. I always advised to just give out less Q7, the same value of tanks you were planning on giving out for Q6, but giving them Q7 instead. For some reason, even though I had numbers and logic on my side, people always ignored me. Probably because at the time I was supplying The Legion and people just didn't read my arguments and assumed they couldn't afford it.
Today I saw advise in the MoD article to use Q6s instead of using Q7s if you couldn't afford to. My old passionate Commander brain turned back on again...
A few facts before I start:
Type: Q7
Current Cost: 11.11
Hits: 10
Damage Factor: 200
Type: Q6
Current Cost: 3.87
Hits: 6
Damage Factor: 120
I haven't used anything other than Q7s in a long long time, do not let that cloud your vision about Q7s. They are not only for the rich, slightly well off, or people in an MU that hands out Q7s. They are for the poor too, as long as your goal is to do as much damage as possible.
Lets imagine a scenario, you have £100 to spend on your tanks during a battle. You having enough energy to do 150 hits in this battle and you want to do as much damage as you possibly can.
With your £100 you could buy 8.9 Q7 or 23.8 Q6, which is 89.1 hits of a Q7 or 143.19 hits of a Q6.
With your 150 hits in a battle you will hit 143 times with the Q6 and 7 times with bare hands or 89 times with the Q7 and 61 times with your hands.
At this point I will let an eRep damage calculator do the heavy lifting.
As we all know, 6.3m is bigger than 6.2m. Yay, maths.
So just to sum up this boring article.
At current prices, no matter what your budget (as long as it is over £11.11, hitting with Q7 is always a must.
Do not supply Q6s, do not use Q6s no not consider Q6s.
Always use the Q7s as it makes financial sense to.
If don't want to do as much damage as you could, then meh, do what you want.

Second o>
No. 1 Reason I use Q7..... Im DC o7
No. 1 Reason I use Q7..... Im DC o7 x2
Good thinking. o7
I'm currently fighting bare handed, being in div4 with poor damage makes equal fighting with or without weapons (or even not fighting at all). Financially it's better to get only the gifts.
shhhhh carlini i'll never manage to sell my q6 if you put people off buying them lol
Voted.

Hitting with anything other than Q7's is a waste...
voted with pleasure!

Zooks are a waste of time for me, seeing as I hit more than 10k in one go...

So you give rewards if the player joins the yanks?
😛
duh.
q6- are only for rockets (which are advisable for lower divs since they don't boost xp and make more damage than fighting, so if you have d1,d2 in the unit you should consider giving out tanks for the rockets instead of tanks for fighting).
The Influence calculator you used is giving a different answer than two others I have seen (http://erep.root.se/?id=5699664 and http://erep.hostei.com/influence-calculator/) and is different than a direct calculation using the eRep formula from the wiki:
I = 10 × (1 +S/400) × (1 +R/5) × (1 +FirePower/100)
Note: GoW *** has R = 65
Also, your calculation doesn’t take into account cost of food consumption.
Let’s look at an example of making 120 hits – that’s 12 Q7’s, 20 Q6’s and 30 Q4’s. I picked 120 so we can ignore the cost of food since it is the same in each case. From the eRep Influence formula, we get the following:
Q7 = 57,795; hits 10 times for total of 577,950. With 12 Q7s grand total is 6,935,424
Q6 = 42,383; hits 6 times for total of 254,298. With 20 Q6s grand total is 5,085,960
Q4 = 34,677; hits 4 times for total of 138,708. With 30 Q4s grand total is 4,161,240
Prices from the eUK market at 11:00 on eRep day 2214
Q7 = 11.06; cost of 12 is £ 132.72
Q6 = 4.25; cost of 20 is £ 85.00
Q4 = 1.16; cost of 30 is £ 34.80
Now we just need to find damage per £:
Q7 = 6,935,424 / 132.72 = 52,256
Q6 = 5,085,960 / 85 = 59,835
Q4 = 4,161,240 / 34.8 = 119,576
From purely a cost perspective, the Q4 delivers the most punch for the pound. The trade off, and the reason the market values the weapons this way, is that an eCitizen hitting with only Q4’s may not be able to deliver the 25 kills of the daily order in one sitting and one cannot deliver maximum damage without using a Q7. People are willing to pay the extra cost of the more powerful weapon to get the job done.
It's the economics that make it a more complex choice -- do you want the MOST damage, or do you want the most damage for the money spent.
"I picked 120 so we can ignore the cost of food since it is the same in each case."
However, if your objective is to only complete the Daily Order, then using Q7s will mean less food being needed... If you are using Q7s then it should only take you around 7 Q7s on average to complete the DO. Not sure how quickly you'd complete 25 kills on Q4, but you'll need a load more food.
And the reason why you want the most damage is that it will help you rank up quicker and all the extra damage bonuses you get from there (plus hitting TP medals quicker etc).
Woot
Good, but one fallacy...IF you 'opponent' is weak (red..and less strength than you if possible), then killing him with one shot of a Q6 costs far less (per 1 shot) than using a Q7. So, since the 'bonuses' (bazookas, candy bars, Christmas bars', movement on weekly quest bar are all identical); AND what is a few extra points on the the God of War** when it takes 300 MILLION of them to reach the 'next star'?, then Q7 is not always best, but perhaps 5 Q7's to 1 Q6 is a good ratio for cost savers.
Mr Carlini, What a fine column you have.
Voted. o7
suits you sir o7
Doesn't take into account the fact that more people using Q7 will raise the price of Q7. this will make it more expensive. Although this is something to be reconsidered if and when Q7 rose by a significant amount.
A Q7 weapon will always be superior to a Q6 as it is an undynamic market and as such, I much agree with Carlini in this article, use lesser amounts of Q7 weapons rather than several Q6 ones.
