YOUR PARTY NEEDS YOU: Why I’m voting Yes



For some time I’ve been discussing a change to how our Party operates. As the party of populism, fairness and inclusion, we have prided ourselves on active Congressmen. Part of our reputation in this regard comes from the expectation that Candidates should campaign to earn their spot in our party’s slate from the partiers. That expectation has fallen to the wayside lately. As such, most Congressmen do not campaign for their spots.



I disagree with that, as do a fair amount of Congressmen. Campaigns serve the party in many ways. Firstly, it strengthens the primary - the more hype around the primary the more people will be likely to get involved and vote. Some more may even candidate themselves. Secondly, it strengthens the party - a good campaign requires shouts and media. In my experience people generally want a party that is active and cares for them. Shoving out media and shouts around the time of Congress elections acurately portrays our party as just that - a caring, active party that works for you.



We see better results both for our Community and the General Erep community when WTP ideas are pushed out into the world. I admit, it is difficult to argue otherwise.



So the primary tool is open with the purpose of mandating that each WTP candidate be expected to;



#1- Write a 100-250+word article, with one picture, about their campaign.
#2- Shout their article at least once in the Party Feed.
#3- Sign up ingame.



I’m voting yes to ensure that these benefits to our community and game that come from meaningful campaigns become enshrined in how our party does Congress. Voting yes is as much a vote about this 25th as it is about the one after, the one after that and onwards.

The WTP Forum drive continues! Expertly administered by our very own Retention crew (updates on them after the referendum), we’ve now got almost 10 new accs signed up since the drive began! Tanks4Voting



WTP is all about encouraging voter participation. We used to have one of the higher averages, mind you. Which does make a great deal of sense for a populist party.

Ramblings aside: One of our themes this month is political outreach. Part of that is embracing our roots as a pro-voter party. To do that, we’re bringing back the Tanks4Voting program sponsored by our resident Whale, Oblige.



Tanks4Voting essentially works like this. You get a PM before elections. It’ll ask you to shout your vote number in the WTP shoutfeed and in return - you’ll get a tank! That’s right, for confirming that you voted in the eUSA General elections you’ll get a tank.



Now of course, it’s not like we’re lacking tanks here - we do have the most generous supply program in the eUSA.



But, why not right? It’s a fun group activity that slays unAmerican heathen AND brightens up the shoutfeed!
