Venezuela Occupies Mexico + Karnataka Update
Desertfalcon
Things haven't been looking good for Mexico ever since their congress got PTOed by a group of Spaniards and other EDEN nations last week. Over the past couple of days the PTOers have already managed to steal 5,000 MXN (120 gold) from the Mexican treasury and are currently trying to pass a donation of 1,100 MXN (26.4 gold) in congress. On top of that the PTO group has also raised income taxes from 9% to 30% and blocked any legislation that legitimate Mexican congress members have tried to pass. The worst is going on right now though, as the PTO group is trying to raise the Mexican minimum wage from 1.2 MXN to 50 MXN. This will surely kill off most Mexican businesses and could force a lot of true Mexicans out of the country in order to find work. This would help the PTOers out greatly since if the true Mexicans all leave then it would be much easier for them to have their presidential candidate win and have complete control of the country. Even if their candidate only came in 2nd their congress could still impeach the guy who won and have their candidate take over.
To counter this, the Mexican government has agreed to temporarily merge with Venezuela in order to remove the PTOers from power and kill their chances of taking the presidency of Mexico. Venezuela will now control Mexico for the next couple of weeks and will likely let one Mexican region free on the 23rd or 24th so that the real Mexicans can try and regain congress. Once the Mexicans are able to take back their congress and kill the PTO threat Venezuela will likely hand over the rest of the regions to Mexico and the new congress can work on reversing some of the harmful legislation that the PTOers have passed.
The only thing Mex-Ven has to worry about is the fact that now any country can attack the Mexican regions and not activate a string of MPP. With Portugal, Spain, the U.S., and Colombia all bordering Mexican regions in a country with a little under 4,000 people one of those countries could easily invade (maybe not Colombia) and hold onto the regions without heavy resistance. Still the odds of this happening are very unlikely because it would make the invader look really bad if they were to take over a country that had already been PTOed and there really isn't anything in Mexico worth taking and countries like the U.S. are more concerned about protecting and expanding their regions in Asia than kicking a Latin American country while it's down. However, the fact that EDEN nations were the main source of the PTOers has to be some concern for Mexico.
Now for a quick update on the Karnataka situation. Reports are that talks between the presidents of India and the U.S. have been going well over the past couple of days and the current rent agreement has been extended for a week. This likely means that if the region is handed over that it will not happen until after the next presidential election. The American president has said that he will respect India's wishes but he maintains that the region is better off in American hands. As of right now only one of the American presidential candidates, Killing Time, has come out and said that he would hold Karnataka against India's will. Other than that it appears that all the presidential candidates, from both India and the U.S., would be willing to go through with an agreement to hand Karnataka over.

It had been a while.
Huh. Interesting.
Desert, getting back into the saddle 😃
Good to see U back 😉
But U didn't say from which country PTO-ers came from?
v

@ Norbengo
I've been trying to figure that out but it's a bit difficult since all my sources are in Spanish.

Very Nice article.

Killing Time just got my Vote... No way should we give Karnataka back so they can back our of our agreement and rent it out to the highest bidder!
They couldn't impeach, they have >2/3 of congress
Mexicans leaving the country would not make a difference - you keep your citizenship.
ATTACK MEXICO!

@ Danie
They may not have 2/3rds of the seats but in their proposals they are getting more then 67% of the votes cast in their favor. Yes they do keep their citizenship but not all of them are going to return to use it.
great article, thx for info I really didn't know what was going on there
"and there really isn't anything in Mexico worth taking"
eMexico has high oil regions, that could be temting for some players out there
Good article. 😉
You do not have to return to use it to vote. Take it from someone who regularly votes in eNK elections, I can do it from the eUS. The only restriction is for congressional elections I can only vote in the eNK region that I was in most recently.
thats a problem with ATO efforts though as it isn't so much the vote that matters as where the vote goes, in order for them to get a vote in the right region they would likely have to move back to that region to vote in that election.
Of what I understood from http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1392477">this article and http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1395027">its continuation, there was a period of excesive discussions within the political sphere, and nobody pay attention looking at an incoming TO (or worse, they used it to attack, or don't organize with everyone, etc). It happened out of noob congressman giving citizenship to any that wanted it: http://www.erepublik.com/en/country/Mexico/citizenship/applications/approved/18">polish citizens.
Regarding Karnataka..., did you look at the iranian and serbian attack?, maybe there is something related to the region here, i don't know, try to attack directly now, or wait until the trasspass and attack.
Great article

I just received word that the PTO group mostly consisted of people from Spain and other EDEN countries.
First...Thank you Desert Falcon. Your sharing of such magnificent global perspective...all in this one place...has allowed to to keep informed, even though politics nor military matters have ever been my primary priority. As a businessman/humanitarian I'm kept VERY busy for hours each day. Add to that my military obligations, and it's hard to find time to keep up with politics.(appreciation of which is very 'relevant' to economic considerations.)
awesome update is awesome.

I can barely type this response.
I am so upset by what happened to Mexico, my eyes are clouded by tears, salty tears.
Salty crocodile tears.
Hopefully, the great nation of Colombia will be able to help out their noble allies, Mexico.
Venceremos!
the oil regions may be a bit tempting tho who knows what they might be worth in v2,hmm, it would be funny if the ptos had come from venezuela.
Killing Time is right.
Very nice Desertfalcon, glad to see an non-biased article 🙂 from one of the mega-alliance giants...
@Desertfalcon
Both guys who proposed money stealing laws are poles.
At least they shout a lot in polish language 😉
Also there is quite suspicios activities with handing citizenship to poles 😉 Also quite a few of congresman looks like... you know ... machines 😉
Overall ugly stuff going on there 🙁
Free Karnaka !
@ Jon Barack Bluejacket's "...Colombia will be able to help out their noble allies, Mexico. ":
It's largely Columbia's fault Mexico is in such a poor position today. They 'intimidated' Mexican leaders into doing land swaps to attack the USA...thus incurring our VERY 'bad feelings' toward BOTH of those countries. I guess Mexico just gets what it deserves.(and I'm sure those sentiments are not lost on Poland lol)
It appears Poles may have recruited 'willing' Spaniards' to do the 'dirty' work.(VERY convenient)
Either way, I'm sitting here with a big bucket of popcorn, enjoying the show.
is this the same Mexico that stabbed the U.S. in the back right in the middle of the world war?
i think so ... let 'em die.
