United Kingdom Ready for 21st Century - New Flag Adopted

The United Kingdom announced the adoption of a new flag in order to improve recognition.

"Nobody is able to correctly draw the flag of the United Kingdom - or do you know whether the diagonal red stripes are in the upper or lower half of the white diagonal line? Furthermore our flag used the same colors as the French flag." explains a government spokesman of the United Kingdom on a press conference "These facts and the upcoming Scottish vote on independence let us to redesign our flag which is ready for the 21st century. It resembles our ideals of the past of peace and prosperity with elegant colors".

Several foreign diplomats were not amused by the new British choice. "I think this one is too close to the white flag, even though the United Kingdom explained they are using a 'light gray' everybody clearly recognizes this choice as the white flag - we are going to bring this one to the UN security council" explained the French ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom announced its veto in the according UN-Security Council meeting. "It will be hard to convince the British to use another flag. But if I look at the current political developments, this flag might be the right choice for the United Kingdom" says Åke S. from the Norwegian Institute for Foreign Politics "it seems they are unable to retreat from Scandinavian territory, although, they ordered their troops to leave Vestlandet. I am confused, to be honest - but the flag fits the situation extremely well I think."
