The Struggle for Freedom! Canada-France

Day 1,659, 18:44 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to the mini-series 'The Struggle for Freedom!'. In this series, each friendly country will be featured and analyzed. There will be two main sections, the stats and the analysis. The analysis will describe the country and its situation in more detail. The stats will be split into three parts: strength, importance, and loyalty.

Strength defines the country's raw ability to fight. It involves its population, experience, resources, money, and amount of land. It is NOT based on strength relative to countries near it.

Importance describes the country's value to the alliance. While all countries are cared for, some countries naturally have more to offer. Though power may play a minor role, it is mostly rated based on geography and its presence in various regions. Those with an ability to directly fight major battles are considered more important.

Loyalty details how much the country attempts to help others in the alliance, and generally being a good buddy. It includes having MPPs, giving back lands to allies, helping in battles, and many other minor factors. Loyalty also is based in how long the country has been allied; while long-time friends tend to be more loyal, new additions often need to prove their worth.

(S/I/L)

Canada (5/4/10)

Canada is one of those cases. It should be powerful, but due to various...circumstances, it is rarely thought of as a militaristic country. Its only enemy border is with the UK, but is often dragged into wars that the Americans start. It is further bogged down due to a lack of quality resources and at times questionable leadership. However, its devotion to a team effort cannot be understated. It was part of both alliances, Terra and EDEN, for a long time before finally cutting ties with EDEN due to conflicting orders. Canada can be referred to as the soldier, with no particular skills or benefits, but undying loyalty.

China (10/6/9)

People sometimes say that Asians are superior, and China sure proves those people correct. China is one of the few countries capable of single-handedly beating Serbia, as they are doing now. It's a superpower which has conquered South America, North Korea, and Spain just for a warmup. It also is located in a decent position; it is near the Koreas and Indonesia, two formidable regions. It also has provided supported other countries, such as Croatia and B&H,by invading their captured lands and liberated them.

Columbia (1/4/9)

Poor Columbia. Despite being a good ally and somewhat isolated from other countries, it still has suffered for its 3 years alive. The latest tragedy happened when certain characters pilfered the national bank during their war with Mexico. This left them open to attack, causing Mexico to capture their lands and Indonesia to start invading. Columbia's modest at best army doesn't help either, giving up key provinces because of it.

Cyprus (8/8/7)

Cyprus is a bit of an outcast when compared to close countries in the alliance, but their strength can't be downplayed; though they started with a mere two provinces, Cyprus' competitive army got its chance to shine just a few months into its life when the Arab Expansion gave Cyprus easy countries to conquer, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia. While Cyprus has had feuds with some pro-EDEN countries such as Iran, it has proven itself mostly loyal to the cause, and is a valuable asset, with borders with Israel, Greece, Egypt, and Turkey just within their capital on the island of Cyprus.

Finland (6/5/9)

Sitting between Scandinavia and the Baltic, Finland is strategically placed in a crucial area. It has the ability to both enforce the Swedes and can also beat up rival Estonia. However, for a crux on the map, Finland's spot can be described as the best of the worst. There's simply nothing interesting about the northern regions, as it serves no purpose to most of the allies. For what it's worth, though, Finland is a respectable country, with above average power; it's a toe-to-toe fight between it and Estonia. It also has its fair share of MPPs and friendly aid provided.

France (3/10/10)

Placed in the middle of Polish Germany, Spain, and the UK, being labeled important is an understatement. Unfortunately, France hasn't had the sheer military prowess it needs to sustain itself, often needing foreign aid as a result. Luckily for them, they have strong ties with many allies, helping them at the very least stay on the map. Its weak army, though, stands out, often in the form of at least partial occupation. Go on, take any day in French history and most likely it's occupied by some country. While it's not as weak as some of the smaller countries, such as Uruguay, it still lacks the strength to be a power in the toughest continent, Europe.
