The Fed Revival, Part I: Clearing the Air

Day 664, 23:19 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

After 2 and a half months, my time as the Federalist Party President has come to an end. I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished since I took office and overjoyed that there are so many potential leaders coming up in the Feds. We have worked extremely hard to make the Federalist Party the example of what we believe parties should be. We have overhauled every last bit of our structure and due to the creativity and hard work of new members, we've managed to expand the party and make it what it is today.

We often take a lot of heat for being so concerned with structure and organization when we're not even a Top 5 party. I'll be honest with you here, reaching the Top 5 was never really my concern as PP. At one point I wondered if I made the wrong call on that, but after polling the party, we seemed to be in agreement that Top 5 would be a natural result of the other things we've been working on. I personally felt that without the structure and organization in place to be an efficient party that can handle lots of new members, reaching the top 5 would be pointless. Do we really need another zombie party? I don't think so. We needed to get new members educated and active if the Feds are going to have the strength we need to accomplish our very large goals... and we're on our way.

What we've been working toward and what we stand for as a party is a complete change in the way political parties function in the eUS. I will go ahead and recap some history so new members have perspective, but just 4 months ago the biggest threat to the eUS wasn't PEACE, it was political opportunists and endless distrations right here at home. Parties didn't serve any kind of purpose and they seemed to turn into gangs. If you were USWP, then you were either a zombie or a shady politician. If you were AAP, then you were a USWP minion. LIBS were manipulative, but unorganized. CVP seemed to always be on the verge of collapse as they took pride in being unnecessarily abrasive. UIP members were nice people, but relaxed to the point of irrelevance. The Federalist Party was full of 'butthole hater trolls' that were contrary for the sake of being contrary.

While PEACE was plotting a massive invasion of this country, we were sniping each other for Congressional seats and arguing about who is more patriotic. The ONLY thing that mattered was how big your party was and how many people you had in Congress. It didn't even matter if your Congressmen were good for the job or trustworthy. It was all about numbers and power... even for The Feds. We are not a Top 5 party, but for a few months in a row, we had more Congressmen than most of the Top 5. We got really good at winning elections, and even made sure that we had good people up there, but meanwhile our party was completely void of new leadership. We didn't have much of a future to speak of. No party really did.

I knew the perception of the Feds was incorrect. We weren't contrary for no reason and our arguments were valid, even though they were frequently dismissed. If people were wrong about the Feds, chances are they're wrong about the other parties, too. At least that's what I was trying to base things on when I took over as PP. Shortly after I took on the job, I was approached by IanJohnLockeIV about a 'secret group' for party leaders. It was intended to function as a replacement for the quickly failed Interparty Relations office, introduced during the Scrabman Administration, for the purpose of squashing partisanship as the war broke out. Everyone jumped right in. Most party presidents were surprisingly open to working together, and we were quickly able to reach an agreement about things like spending party ad money to promote DoD orders or military enlistments and pledging to NOT move voters during the election.

Not ALL party leaders were on board with driving their members to the military, fearing the loss of numbers, and there was obvious vote moving going on as some took advantage of the situation. As a result, the country was unable to reach all of our objectives in the war effort. Despite the setbacks caused by certain individuals, real effort had been made on the part of the majority. Some parties kept their promises. Major change didn't happen overnight, but things appeared to at least be moving in the right direction.

>>>To avoid being waaaay tl:dr like some of my other posts, I'm going to stop here and post a part duex. If you're absolutely bored to tears by this and don't want to read the next bit, here's a spoiler: things keep getting better and Captain Panther rules. Oh, and Feds FTW.
