Good evening wonderful eIrish comrades,

I am Cat Boyd, also known as Comrade Cat. As expected I did not win the CP election this January, congrats to Elite C and may this term be prosperous. I appreciate the votes for me, nearly 20% of the total vote, and I urge those who did to not give up hope in me. Today will be remembered as an historic day, the day in which the Banist e-Revolution officially begins its growing influence on eIreland and the New World.

Revolutionary Flag of Banism

Banism is an ideology rooted in the social progression of e-nations, as its founder MikeBane detailed in his philosophy, the ideology recognizes that the transformative power in eRepublik stems from individual within the social context of the community. In order to strengthen our community we need to reach out to the individual and engage the individual, by doing so we encourage the individual to engage the community. How do we do this? What needs to be done?

First of all we need a National Forum that is accessible and not required for in-game activity. We cannot force Congress members, government members, or the citizenry to use an external forum. However, if we promote a National Forum we need to include it on all government articles particularly Community Articles. Within the forum we can also include a sub-forum which hosts the eIrish University or -alternatively- links to the current University forum. The Ministry of Community should have the duty of not simply being a gameshow host, but of guiding the Community and nurturing it. The Minister of Community should be given more tasks such as innovating ways to keep the public engaged and promoting recruitment drives.

Secondly we need to install the Dublin Commune. The Commune will be the place where representatives and/or party presidents coordinate and talk with each other - the Commune acts independently of the government. This creates an alternative democratic institution in which political parties can direct policy they want to pursue and also give voice to parties that do not make it into congress. This may work to mend past grudges between parties and 'force' us to deal with each other on a semi-daily basis. The Commune is only answerable to their parties and the eIrish people, not the Dictator or Country President. It is the hope of the RBP that we can work democracy on two-levels: one foot in the Dáil, one in the Commune.

Thirdly we need to create a stronger international influence and to accomplish this I say we pursue an alternative route than we've taken. We should focus on hosting international events, peace conferences, fundraisers to liberate oppressed nations, international contests, raffles, you get the picture. We need to draw focus towards eIreland. The route we've always pursued is purely militaristic and I am NOT suggesting we abandon this entirely, I am saying we should have people who aren't really engaged with the military module work with the social module. This will earn us prestige and consequently also lead to a gradual increase in our population.

The last bit I want to mention is about the Revolutionary Banist Party itself. When one becomes a member of the RBP you become a member of an e-Revolution; you dedicate your time and effort towards enriching the social aspect of eRepublik and believe that a shift in perspective could very well save this game from becoming utterly boring and pointless. Plato has done a lot to kill the political, social, and economic module but we have an ideology that fights back! We harness an aspect of the game that Plato cannot kill or make obsolete because we carry the power within us. The RBP isn't an exclusive party, it will soon spread around the New World and ultimately change the way eRepublik played forever.

Banism is a new force in politics, one that will reshape the New World political arena. You can become a Banist too! Click on the link to join The Revolutionary Banist Party! Join the e-REVOLUTION!

Sincerely,
Comrade Cat
