So ya dont like being called paddy
Releasethe Krakken
Paddy is derived from the Irish, Pádraig: the source of those mysterious, emerald double-Ds.
Patty is the diminutive of Patricia, or a burger, and just not something you call a fella.
There isn’t a sinner in Ireland that would refer to a Patrick as “Patty”. It’s as simple as that.
Paddy, Mick, and Taig / Teague / Tadhg have long been used as slurs but they are still names.
However stereotypical it may be, it isn’t a slur to call you by your actual name.
IT’S PADDY, NOT PATTY. EVER.
SAINT PATRICK’S DAY? GRAND.
PADDY’S DAY? SURE, DEAD-ON.
ST. PAT’S? IF YE MUST.
ST. PATTY? NO, YE GOAT!
I must say warning, few choice words...ban I cant say that is fair considering that you often call WHS/mIKEBANE a wait for it "PLASTIC PADDY" because he is from the US(Whs is living there). In fact I dont think there is a group that has used the term less.
So Hankie Paddy
Sweet Paddy
An Slaugh Paddy
and Nogin Pattie
what you hollering about....
The fact that the MOF had a hand if one belief Sweet Minker in the ban because of the word capitalist is a bit ironic.

Just a small correction...I'm a RL Irishman born, living and hopefully will die in my homeland.
😃
yes but didnt they call you or mikebane a plastic paddy. correct me if im wrong but i think this was sweet drinker himself.
Wasn't me, maybe Mike I don't recall... If so it is not an insult in my book but a badge of honour.
vibe i used to get from them as well seems they watched one too many episode of looking.
I'm an American living for many years in Dublin.
When someone calls you a plastic paddy, they are not making a term of endearment, I promise you that...
so you know s* sweet and preaches to a rl irishmen living in the us. for them it may not be as big a thing. and might i know a common name.
Sweet, context is everything. I've used the term both ways.
Well I'm one of the few RL Irishwomen on here - maybe the only real one!!, and i know for a fact when the english refer to an irishman as a paddy, like sweet said its not a term of endearment, try living in Ireland especially around the border counties and you see the real meaning of "Paddy", the context it was used in by Colin Fox was offensive pure & simple.
Oh I thought u fed on them using it. Often offensive terms is used often by ppl who is the offende.d. what is the meaning of it
what ye sow so shall ye reap.
You never see me name calling!!
Plastic Paddy 4 Life
I don't know about some people calling other people names in the eIrish Community.
My comment is that I agree with Sweet and Nogin.
"Plastic Paddy" in my experience is usually a phrase used by people born and raised in Ireland as a put down when talking to a person (usually American) who talk about their Irish roots and how Irish they feel after having spent 1 day in Ireland on holidays. The "Born and bred" Irish person does not like a person they feel is from another country comparing their Irishness with them and deciding they are as Irish as the "Born and Bred" person. A person I might use the phrase "Plastic Paddy" to describe is Michael Flatley. I would use it in a negative way to describe him as I think he overplays the Irish card to help him make more money. Having said that he is a very talented dancer, musician, choreographer and businessman, with Irish roots.
On Nogin's point re how "Paddy" can be used by English and Northern Irish people of an orange persuasion. Thankfully I have never had to put up with that, but many of my friends and my brother have had to put up with it. They certainly did not feel that the term was used in a friendly manner.
point is the term plastic paddy is most often used by the ICA/Labour party members. So banning Colin Fox was a clear case of double standards. if you dont like being called a cappy paddy dont call others plastic paddies.
Or the selection of other abusive terms that ilk dredge up
H'on!! 🙂
After meeting many of you that I consider friends I would be honored to be an Irishman. If the only way I can be that is to be "plastic" or fake then so be it.
My rl name is Patrick. I am rl Irish. I introduce myself to people as Patrick as it is on every piece of documentation I have though a lot of people choose to call me Padraig or Padraic, even Pauric which is a BS makeyuppy english spelling.
Patrick or Patricius is Latin, a Roman word
Padraig or Padraic is Gaelic, an Irish word
Paddy is an english word often used as an insult, depends on context.
If you call me Paddy, I will correct you and tell you that I prefer either the Roman or Irish not the English thank you very much. If you persist I will repeatedly headbutt you until you die.
lolol as I said context is everything
Thank you for agreeing with me, all WHS is doing is trying to protect one of his members at the expense of the rest of us RL Irish who see it as an insult.
