Resignation From The eUSMC

Day 1,237, 22:24 Published in USA USA by Evry

Today is a day that I will look back on in the future in either regret or satisfaction. I am hereby tendering my resignation to the USMC and the eUS Military. This is a decision I have made after a growing amount of discomfort with the current military leadership and the way they have acted in the past week.

The marines were caught off-guard and with our pants down when it came to the JCS deciding not to accept congressional funding any longer. They claim it was a planned decision, and that they thought it through. However, the first sign of any sort of plan for funding the marines came a week after they left government funding and a 6 hour long meeting with the Senior Officers of the Marines. There was never anything communicated to any of the SOs before the meeting as far as remaining at full funding leaving us worried, and anxious as to how we'd be able to survive.

While funding was a big part of the issue, it was not the only thing that led to this. As I stated, there was very little if any communication between the JCS and the people in charge of keeping the branch running on a daily basis. It should not, and can not, be the responsibility of the Senior Officers to somehow know that the JCS is about to screw us over in relation to funding and ask them what the plan is, before we're told of any intention of them even leaving government funding status. We're not mind readers and shouldn't be expected to be mind readers.

Besides communication, and funding, legitimacy also played a role in this. Since the eUS Military is no longer the eUS's Military, it has lost it's legitimate claim at being the one and only military of the country. While this doesn't affect the daily functions of the military, or the marines, it does affect the ability to sustain itself. Without being able to draw in members with a link in the New Citizen Message, White House Press Release, President Papers', or any other official article or document, the ability for the eUS Military to recruit new members is severely hampered leaving me to believe that the only thing the eUS military can do is slowly being to wither away in members, strength, and effectiveness.

To top it all off, I had my forum access to the eUS Military's forums and the Marine's forums completely removed some time today. I did not receive any accompanying explanation in any way besides a few PMs on IRC by a few military members expressing dislike and disapproval of my decision to leave the eUS military. These are some people who I've shared over a year and a half of service to the Military and many good times. While this does upset me, I hope that everyone else that has known and fought on my side through my past two years in the military will not instantly become strangers to me.

I hope everyone understands my reasoning for doing this. Or at least attempts to understand where I am coming from. I look forward to once again joining my dear friend and former general (in two seperate branches) Deificus as well as a bunch of other folks who I have become close with over the past two years of my eRep career in the eUS Armed Forces.

Signing off from the eUSMC,
-Evry, former Brigadier General, eUSMC
