Ramblings from the Runner Up

Day 1,265, 23:04 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

So it's been 3 days and according to "Chicken Little" the sky is falling. Kaz who claimed to be "Ready" when the gun was fired to start the election has apparently fallen asleep in the starting blocks and people are starting to get worried. Did the people choose the wrong person to lead? Did the country make a misstep of Fram'ian levels? Is this round two of "DAL sticks it to the nation"? (see May 2010 for round 1) Only time will tell.

But as the second fastest horse in the race to the post I feel I need to weight in on the current events surrounding the highest office of the land.

While to say, "I told you so" would be apt and not outside my character I don't feel it's appropriate at this time. In the days leading up to the election I made it abundantly clear that Kaz was not ready to be President. He may have felt otherwise at the time, and some of his supporters may have disagreed with me but I knew he simply wasn't ready. Kaz has always been an outside voice banging on the door trying to get in. He was so devoted to getting through the door that he never spent anytime thinking about what he would do once he got through. This has become abundantly clear in the past few days.

While he may have started with pure intentions his deficiencies in what the office requires are becoming apparent. Pipe Dreams and Fairy Tales work well on a platform or in a hypothetical but when it's time to put those promises into action the reality quickly sets in.

Are we all on the same page? Unrealistic goals, unprepared for the job, in way over his head, has virtually disappeared since being elected aside from pointless articles that tell us noting.

All caught up? Good. Cause this is where I go rogue.

I think people are being too hard on Kaz. Nothing I've written in this article is anything he would deny privately, and would most likely acknowledge publicly. The thing about a learning curve is that if you're smart enough, and stick to it you can climb to the top quickly and I think there's a pretty good chance that this is exactly what Kaz is doing.

If you're thrown into the deep-end you have two options. You can either sink to the bottom or you can learn to swim. I have enough faith in Kaz to believe that he chose the latter. He may need water-wings for the first week or so, but I truly believe that by the end of his term he'll be able to keep up with anyone in the water.

As for the people calling his head and already talking about the big "I" - I ask you to wait. It's been THREE DAYS. Calm down. Give him a chance to get his bearings and feet underneath him before you expect him to run a marathon (metaphors are fun, anyone keeping track of how many I use?). As past Presidents can attest it takes time before you get into the swing of things. Give him the time to get into his.

Long story short, and a bit of a TL😉R is that I think Kaz needs more time. He wasn't ready, he didn't know what he was getting into, but there's a pretty good chance he'll get up to speed quickly. We spoke on IRC earlier tonight and I told him how I would handle the situation he's in if I were him and hopefully he takes my advice. If he does the critics will start getting the things they've been asking for shortly.

When, not if, he gets back on course and you people are still complaining I welcome you to impeach him. I want you to impeach him with a unanimous vote. I want you to punt him out office with a power and ferocity that the eWorld has never seen.

But remember one thing. If your impeachment of Kaz isn't justified and well founded I'll show you the damage a real bad CP can do. But don't take that as a threat.

Read it as a promise.
