PTO - One Week On.

PTO - One Week On.

One week ago I released an article outlining what at the time seemed a daunting task. The One Week Warning detailed a PTO attempt made against the eUK and the vital steps that you, the public had to take in the days preceding Congress elections. Once the article was published, group messages between myself and other prominent players and the Government were arranged, and IRC channels set up to coordinate and discuss Anti-Takeover strategy. As someone who had been heavily involved in ATO in the past I was sure that what we needed to be doing was moving people. When elections came, it would all culminate in a battle of numbers and what we needed to do was use our numbers to cut the PTO’ers out of the election completely.

As you have no doubt seen on the election page, we were successful. Over the past week, members of all eUK parties have moved in an effort to block PTO’ers running for election into both WRP and PCP. The result was that both UKPP and ESO - PTO’d parties - have been excluded from running Congressmen and so this month, the threat has been averted.

There are many people worth mentioning by way of thanks; however I would like to offer my own thanks to various individuals I feel made an exceptional effort during this crucial week:

Kravenn and Count Drakula for their open communication with various international and national types in order to not only coordinate wings of our own government, but also in making back up plans should PTO’ers have got into elections and multi busting.

Ayame Crocodile and Neil Lewis, for multi busting and being generally very helpful and communicative in ATO messages.

Thomas765 and Bohemond4 for also being productive and useful in the ATO messages.

iAdastros and The Equalist for coordinating and informing government and Congress of the ATO strategy.

FightandProduce, Massacar and CheetahCurtis for maintaining a media presence and keeping people informed.

The leadership of all parties for cooperating and helping encourage people to move, with a special mention to Neil Lewis and Rob the Bruce of UKPP, iAdastros of ESO for keeping their members informed and encouraging them to block the PTO, as well Sven Goran Duran Duran of NE and the leadership of TUP for informing their own members on their stance regarding the PTO and discussing which steps to take next. It is altho worth shouting out to Huey George for making sure all movers remained represented in WRP's Congress list.

Most of all, I would like to thank everyone who moved and all members of the public who supported this campaign. If I am honest, last week I had a somewhat bleak outlook on how many people would move and as I monitored the rankings I was overwhelmed with how well everyone came together to help. Good job. Pat yourselves on the back, you saved the eUK this week.

Next Steps

We may have won the battle, but there is still a war going on. As long as these individuals hold UK citizenship, they pose a risk as at any time they may run in and win a PP election, triggering this threat all over again.

I would say the best way to combat this risk is to have the government monitor PP elections for risky candidates, Parties will have an idea of who isn’t a risky candidate, and with lists of known PTO’ers available and the knowledge of party representatives hopefully we can identify PTO risks before the PP elections start, and can send loose or free voters to help tackle any surge in votes they receive.

However, what is also important is a strong and active cohort of top 5 parties. The eUK was a conflicted, and polarized society when the PTO’ers decided to target us, with two large parties constantly butting heads and agreeing not to message each others members, and dominating the political scene through stratifying their membership bases and drawing on resources to expand further. This as we now know left our smaller parties fairly vulnerable, and I would push for a lift on the de facto ban on cross party messaging, as an honest discourse between all the parties and all our citizens is not only more democratic but it allows for smaller parties to openly recruit and grow, giving them the numbers and strength to repel PTO attempts in the first place.

Increasing the strength of our smaller parties is the only long term solution to this problem. We do need to discuss immigration and preventing more PTO’ers entering the country, but we also need to conduct our own risk assessment and reduce the vulnerability of the weaker political vessels in the eUK. It would be better for everyone if this wasn’t done artificially, if they weren’t propped up by mobile voters and instead merged and grew of their own accord, developing a strong and reliant player base as we see in the larger parties. However, all such decisions must be made by the parties themselves. Even in desperate times, we shouldn’t be as draconian as to force mergers or members into disregarding their own self determination.

I am sure there is a teeth parallel here.

Thanks for spreading the ATO Calendar. Remember the final steps:

25th: Vote for your Congressmen, if we have been unable to move UKPP out of the top 5, be very careful of your vote.
26th: Return back to your respective parties and feel proud of what you have achieved.
15th (April): Help UKPP/ESO take back their parties from PTO agents.
