Phoenix's Time May be Running Out

Day 1,092, 19:15 Published in Canada Canada by Armour144

I have been in this game for a very long time. I was around when Norway was a superpower, when Indonesia owned vast parts of asia, when Romania removed Indonesia from parts of Asia only to later be repelled back. I have seen just about everything, but I can’t remember the last time that one side seemed to have so much momentum.

Over the past couple of months Phoenix has taken multiple blows dealt by Eden. Turkey, Portugal, Slovenia, Russia, Estonia, and now Hungary have all taken turns having their land entirely occupied by Eden. Germany is just barely hanging on with a single region, and the UK is fighting desperately to stop eCanada from reaching London.

This all begs the question of what will happen next. Looking at this logically, one would think that Eden will continue on their rampage through Phoenix countries until some massive baby booms take place in Phoenix countries. But looking historically, its really only a matter of time before Eden finds itself overextended and this empire comes crashing down into rubble. The fact that Eden has been able to maintain assaults throughout Germany, Hungary, England, and Indonesia while defending Spain is incredible, but it leaves you wondering how long both sides can keep up this everlasting war.

Regardless, this war has quickly turned western Europe into a very Pro-Eden area. Spain once found itself very alone, with enemies such as Brazil, Portugal, England and Germany nearby. However, now Portugal is all but crushed, Germany has been bashed down to a single region, and the UK only holds half of its own country. Poland, Italy and Sweden now find themselves with far more regions than they had just a month ago, and it should leave the UK and France a little worried. Add a conquered Hungary and a dead Russia to that equation, and the smaller Phoenix countries suddenly find themselves in a difficult situation. Their larger, more powerful members are being destroyed which will eventually lead to the smaller ones being picked off.

One of the largest events to come across this week was when Hungary finally was conquered by Romania and Croatia. Not only is this a large blow for Phoenix as a whole, it also leaves Serbia very vulnerable. Typically Serbia and Hungary would come to each other’s defence when one was attacked, but now Serbia finds itself alone. But the news gets worse for Serbia. Bulgaria, after being very angry at Phoenix due to membership of Macedonia, is holding a vote to determine if they should leave Phoenix or not. At this given moment, 58% of the voters want to leave Phoenix.

So Serbia is virtually all alone. Although it is fair to say that the Republic of Macedonia would come to Serbia’s aid, doing that would almost certainly cut Bulgaria from ever wanting to be in Phoenix. If that was to happen, Serbia would find itself surrounded by Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece (which is very nearby).

So is Phoenix on the decline? Region wise, it’s a very easy conclusion to come by. The next few weeks could be very grim for Phoenix, but they could also bring hope. Maybe a big baby boom will come around. Maybe Eden will run out of money. Maybe Eden will overextend itself and Phoenix will stage a comeback.

Whatever it is, Phoenix had better hurry up. It’s only a matter of time until Eden controls the eWorld.
