Once more into the Abyss

Day 1,255, 22:32 Published in Canada Canada by Muglack

Here we are, once again, approaching a Presidential election. People are stepping forward and throwing their hats in the ring, and players are jockeying for position in the race.

People that had announced they were running have dropped out, while others have thought it better to combine forces and try and reach the top of the mountain working as a team.

There's chum in the political waters and the sharks are circling.

Luckily, I have a solution.

I am formally announcing my intentions to run for the positon of Country President and hope you have faith enough in me to put me in the big chair.

My track record speaks for itself. Both the good and the bad. I've been in the CAF and the TCO. I've been in congress, and a two-time Party President of a Top 5 party. I've felt the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat.

I've been the conspirator playing a role in Project Mayhem, and the villain which resulted in a 5 week ban on both IRC and the Forums.

On the flipside I was a part of the group of people who returned 1000 Gold to eCanada and outted Octavian for trying to buy his way into the Presidency.

Through all of this there's one thing that hasn't changed. That's me, and there's some important things about me that you need to consider when choosing who to vote for.

1) I am many things, but a thief is not one of them. Many people, including "Fedora the Explora" Jacobi can attest to how I react when it's implied that I'm even involved with a theft and there is no way I would personal perpetrate one especially against the country.

2) To paraphrase "The Dude": I'm not wrong, I'm just an @$$hole. You may not agree with my methods, or the way I express my opinions, but very rarely am I wrong especially when it comes to game mechanics. Which leads me to my next point...

3) I know my strengths and weaknesses. People will tell you everything they're good at it while this election moves forward. I'm not goint to do that. I don't think it matters what you're good at. I think it matters that you can identify where you're weak and aren't ashamed to admit it. Identifying a weakness and bringing someone in to make up for it is much more important than bragging about what you can do yourself. But more on that later.

I guess that's it for now. I have feelers out for Cabinet posts (MoF, MoFA, I've got a new idea for MoD I'd like to try, as well as a play on Jacobi's PM idea I'll flesh out later.) and will post when I have answers.
