NEW Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Day 2,366, 03:05 Published in Romania Romania by Nicolae Crefelean

We have updated our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy which will be effective starting May 14, 2014.

One would expect eRepublik to write a "latest update" news item with the changes, but I guess they are too busy trimming the weekly challenge rewards. Why is this article in English only?

OK, here's a side by side comparison of the old (left) and new eRepublik Terms of Service: http://www.diffchecker.com/cv217dyk

And a summary of the changes:
1. renamed "shout(s)" to "feed(s)"
2. removed the reference to the company that operates/operated the eRepublik online shop
3. changed the registered office address from Romania
4. added more restrictions to the usage of the citizen accounts
5. we can no longer (?!) use eRepublik for commercial (?!) use
6. fixed a typo
7. QUOTE: You also agree to receive emails containing information regarding new games and/or applications developed by our company or by any of our Partners.

Now for the changes brought by the new Privacy Policy... I don't know what to say. The link to the previous version leads to our old acquaintance:

No, eRepublik! You're not doing everything you can to correct the problem. You're just faking it.

Of course I wrote a ticket the minute I found out the link doesn't work (yesterday). And it was during their business hours, but I guess they drown in tickets and only found mine today. But I got the usual crap anyway:
We appreciate your help and will check this issue.

Like it would take more than 10 seconds to actually confirm it's broken, and an extra minute to get it fixed. And this is about the Privacy and Security Policy, not some useless feature request.

Read this, eRepublik: CRITICAL!
