For it. The more the game focuses on chatrooms in the actual game, the more useless IRC will become, until it would eventually be pointless to go to another site/run programs when you could use the game. Of course, you're no longer being monitored by someone in the chat, but rather the admins instead, which is good or bad however you look at it.

I've seen players go crazy on IRC, insults, racism ect. It would be nice to see them get banned for it in game, but there are the trolls who would want that window to vent immaturely and think that alone, or perhaps that, the extra personal info you can get on IRC , and the customization of the program would keep it alive and strong even if the game added chat. I'd disagree.

Overall, if they added public and private chat, and the ability to limit those in the chat, erep IRC would die. But the question is, of all the things the game "developers" could spend their money on, is this worth the time and money? Well, considering some of the pathetic missions we've been given, I'd say why not. I've seen worse. It'd still be nice to focus more on the economy, or give better tools/resources to assist players in recruiting for their nation, instead of minor referral incentives and a "go get em' tiger" attitude. Especially considering the admins themselves care more about draining the money of current players instead of recruiting new players.

actually mr tayto is a very old citizen i remember when i created tayto piggie i was reffered to his previous article. the mu shoutbox is a very old thing couple of years ago. but yeah its a nice feature tayto.

A number of citizens who had quit had their accounts hacked by an eIreland forum admin, and used for dodgy voting. Then they were all banned. This was a well publicised event. If you ever bothered your ar*e to actually look outside of your own jaundiced little letter box vision of life, you'd see the world exists within and without you.
As you still seem to be under the impression that I find you attractive, let me again point out that you are one of the most stomach-churningly odd sociopaths I have ever encountered.

in game chat is something that I think will be a useful tool, but I think there should be more than a single channel, also. I have nothing against IRC, but I don't use it all that often, since I have to run multiple sites to have it and the game up. I like convenience where possible.

Things keep getting done to try to pull gold buyers into spending more and more, but we are not getting a lot of results back from it.

It only appeared for me this morning too. It may well prove useful to co-ordinate MU strikes - IRC without IRC.

there was an in game chat room a few years ago and it did not last long.
