Message to normal players.
AlI Might
This article is adressed to people like me, I mean those who are active in the game, being often in touch with the community, fighting and enjoying the game even if it isn't the best we've ever played.
Where to start... Well, about the way we play, I suggest people to not taking the game too seriously, especialy when it comes to alliances.
I mean, alliances... A group of members ready to help each others in any situations, expected to sacrifice in emergencies. Sharing, based on a democratic way to be ran...
Ok, so now forget that, forget alliances, because eRepublik doesn't count alliances but group of people being selfish and thinking they are the best.
Today, you're playing for a country, for example, you fight for USA, you sacrifice yourself a bit, give your efforts, maybe you tank, and that's even worse.
Why ?
Because you're not even sure that next month, USA will still be your ally. There is like a smell of chaos in the air lately. Rumors about alliances coming this summer, rest assured this is more than rumors.
Next alliances are said to be gathering countries like Poland, Brazil, Spain, USA, China, Argentina...
I think you can easily see what's the common asset in all those countries, they are strong and having a huge amount of inhabitant.
They don't care now, only victory is their interest. One day I asked someone being a part of those coming events:
"What about France, will we be welcomed to join ?"
Answer :
"I don't know, maybe, but you would have to deal with the fact of being permanently occupied by Poland."
Alliance eh ? So that's how they see it ?
What is sometimes making me exasperate is seeing countries saying like :
"We get no support, come on we're not listening to..."
And they have 100/100 as bonuses.
And then you take a look at the map and see that :
For example, Germany, occupied for months now, do you hear them complaining ?
Do you hear anything from them claiming that they have no support blabla, they are erased, and yet enjoying the game, supporting their allies, helping in any way they can.
The main idea behind this, is when a country gets bonuses, then it wants more and can't appreciat the least of what it has. It always worked like this since I play this game.
I come back to what I said earlier :
"because eRepublik doesn't count alliances but group of people being selfish and thinking they are the best"
You've maybe been a bit shocked or something by those words, now let me explain :
When I was TERRA dSG, at the end of my term, countries had to vote for two SG for June: Oblige and Kev.
I was in the Oblige's cabinet as a dSG again, the day before elections was about to be closed, Oblige was winning the election, every countries voted and that was normaly done.
But what a surprised when I woke up the day after, kev won the election, how comes ? Well, I took a look at the sheet and saw that America and Canada changed their votes, why ? I was wondering so... I came to Oblige and asked what the hell happened.
And you know what, here's the fact :
Rylde said he had pressure to change his vote...
Am I the only one being able to read that candidates have to not begging for votes in PM and querry ?
That's the way it goes guys, alliances are ran by people who doesn't care about you. They took decisions without asking people about their opinions.
What is funny, is the way how new alliances are created, those old fags create them, they don't even ask their people to know if they agree.
It's like this, one day they are fed up with the current situation, so they start shit you have no control on, and you see things collapsing around you, without being able to change anything. And the day after, you're supposed to fight against a country which was your ally yesterday.
I don't want that and I guess you too, so I suggest you, to choose a country and/or travel, set your ass somewhere where you feel good, do not expect too much from the country you're in, just enjoy the game.
Create around you a circle of friends, a good one, people you feel good to be with. And play quietly. That's how we should play now,
This is a short sum up of my thoughts and what I saw for all those months spent working for countries and alliances. I don't read what I write before publishing, I'm too lazy for that, I just wish you to have fun, and really :
Do not take this game too seriously and do not expect too much from countries/alliances.
Have fun !

To be honest, both France and Germany won their independence briefly only after Bulgaria showed any interest in helping. However when it needed support and not military at that, there was none forthcoming.
So as far as I see it, most smaller and middle sized countries need to first get their priorities straight rather then go with the best offer at the moment. Not all big countries play the game the same way.
Best alliance, Germance!
Good article, i read it in one breath. v
good point.
The big countries in the game however are in the eternal situation of donating damage to the rest, some do it for their own goals, some do it to help, some do it for fun.
Find the ones that will work for you and find a way to develop and keep a relationship, that is the only way. Croatia is pretty good at it, except they periodically change their benactor, rather then the other way around. They though it purposely others do it withouth realizing. The end result is usually the same, not on map
100 % agree with you Alex.
That's why I'm in Foxland now, in order to have fun with friends.

As for the rest you're absolutely correct this is what the current "bi-polar" model is. This is one of the reasons why in CoT an alternative means at choosing alliance leadership was looked at, weather it will work it will be seen.
Like all top down structures however, sooner or later the "beurocrats" get technically savvy and take over, this is usually the moment the whole thing has decayed beyond repair.
Who can change that?
Funny enough it is the small and middle sized countries and the ordinary players, simply because they have nothing to loose, so they're free to play and do as they wish. Then the big boys have no choice but to look to appease them.
So in short, reward the ones that play differently and not selfishly, rather then going with the ones that can guarantee you a win or two now, but make you their quiet followers for a long time in the future forever "reminding you" of their deeds.
Nice article.

Just create an international apatrid and non-patriotic working "force", that moves from country to country each month. This helps, economically, the country for free, in counterpart of a certain imposed (by you) ethics. If the country leaders violate it, as soon as it is known, everyone moves out of the country.
All true.

that's the reason why now i fight only for countries where i've friends...o/
