Luck - Or the probabilistic chance of a certain event happening

Day 2,961, 14:21 Published in Ireland Ireland by Releasethe Krakken

All over the fair lands of eRepublik 3 scenes are playing out:

1. I won nothing butt 20 bits - Plato you #*#**##*#* which can be mathematically simplified to

2. And I assume the other group - those buggers that actually won something 🙁

3. Those other guys ...

Actually I belong to group 2

I had 14 raffle tickets and won 4 prizes 50 + 1 gold plus 25 gold plus a prestige booster plus another prestige booster.

An old poker saying says good luck is only bad luck with a sombrero on. Or is it the other way around.

Statistically there was 8000 players participating so 10% of the whole eRepublik if I remember the numbers right. So 90% of people could give x amount of f* for Plato's raffle.

There was 8800 prizes available .

This is where things went a little bit screwy. Because there was 140000 tickets.

So an average of 17.5 tickets per player. And calculating each ticket had a 8800/140000 * 100/1 chance of winning a prize. Therefore each ticket had a 6.28% chance of winning a ticket.

If we look at the winners of the top prizes in the top 5 I think there is 4 players over level 200 in experience. Simply put and someone else can do a statistical article but the more tickets you had in there the more chances you had to win the big prizes.

And there is where things is a bit screwy if 90% of players did not bother to get 1 tickets. All players who got nothing spare a thought for the one player who was the biggest loser of them all:

because he invited 80000 players to his party and only 8000 came 🙁
