but I have a Turkish heart 🙂.

In argentina RL is very common the nickname, "Turco" (Turk). My country is a country of immigrants, when the end of nineteenth century middle eastern people came to my country, many of these people had passports or papers of the Ottoman Empire.

Because of that, all the Argentines descendants of Middle Eastern people often have nicknamed "Turk". Arabs, Syrians, Palestinians, Lebanese all are turks in argentina, obviously, except the Jews 🙂 that's another story 🙂.

Now I'm going to introduce one of these people.

Is a argentina boxer, born in Buenos Aires, on August 5, 1978.

My knowladge says, in 19th century only arabic/semitic people left as big groups from the turkish empire to South america. But as you said they had ottoman passaport and south american ppl called them "turks". But they are not etnically turkish.
