Here is the moment I announce my candidacy for CP of eAustralia.Version espanol aqui

Why?

Because eAustralia should be strong. We should be productive. We should be compassionate, and stand proud in the eWorld. We can be all of those things, but first we must be united. Every eAustralian is needed if we are to accomplish these goals:

Strength: Internally, we are in good shape if we work together. We have coverage over several time zones, and we have some tanks. If we can introduce more cooperation and discipline into our military forces, we’ll be going very well. If you elect me, you may be sure that DoD personnel will be chosen for their ability to tighten our military machine- and test it.

There are two elements to our foreign policy. These are our alliance, NEBULA, and our MPP and friendships with other countries. Both should make our nation stronger.

NEBULA has grown quickly, and has in the recent past agreed to what some may consider questionable military manoeuvres. Our goal should be defining the alliance’s role, very specifically, to be in the defense of its member countries.

Other external relationships have been in a state of flux for some time. While the future of the Asteria alliance appears to be uncertain, I believe eAustralia should maintain the positive relationships we currently have with key members of that alliance, and continue to work on improving our status with several of our other powerful friends.

We cannot continue to respond to every e-global political fluctuation as if it is a tsunami. We must instead address issues before they become problems. My defense and foreign affairs teams would include our best strategists, who will make plans for both the short and long term.

Can we always win? That would be ridiculous. But we can do our best to keep eAustralia on the map and moving forward. We have good international support. Let’s improve it.

Productivity: Not everyone is a warrior, but we all need to eat. I would like to see our tax structure optimised so our producers can make a profit, so that self-sufficient citizens are not taxed too hard on their own supplies, so that things we need but do not make enough of are reasonably priced.

Is this possible? I don’t actually know- but I am keen to have a MoF who will do the hard yards and help us improve our support of producers. For mine, it is just as important that we can feed and arm ourselves as it is that we can defend ourselves.

Pride and compassion: We must be unified. We must be strong and productive. And then we should stand with our Aussie heads held high against every problem— every stupid game module, every enemy, every diplomatic failure, every troll.

Where does the compassion come in? Australians support the underdogs, and the underfed, and our friends who have less a voice than ours. We must use what we have for them, because that is how Aussies roll.

And while we’re on the subject of compassion— a word about social issues. We should not forget the old guard. They have plenty to teach us.

And you guys of the old guard should not give up in disgust—we need your help. Ask for a cabinet post, if you are prepared to work hard and be part of a team.

Bring your knowledge of what worked and what didn’t, your war stories, your explanation of why your favourite version was your favourite… If you won’t help your gov, at least help our newbies… G’on, start a new generation of patriots- rebels- soldiers- whatever it is you think we need.

I will publish an article regarding cabinet members and specific initiatives in a few days. I will also be seeking support from your political parties, so please speak your mind. If you have questions, please ask them. If you have ideas, please share them.

In closing: There is no Nirvana here, no god of Visa, no magic bullet… only all of us, working hard to make our country strong and fun and united and proud. Be part of it. I will try, with your help.

TL/DR: Ask. Talk. Think. Vote.

Cheers—JackTrout
