Je suis Charlie - 07/01/2015

For people who don't know, the office of the weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo known for satirizing polemical news has been attacked by terrorists due to the fact they made fun of "The prophet".
Here are some informations: The attack of Charlie Hebdo
So ehm... I feel like hurt by this. ISIS, or other Islamists begin to plant seeds of terror in me. I'm the city of Dijon, where I live, we already have some attacks... A insane car drive who attacked pedestrian shouting "God is Great" in arabic, an other who attacked people with a knife because his God is the best!
I think I start to be afraid, and that's precisely the purpose of terrorism.
I hope reporters and cartoonists from Charlie Hebdo rest in peace.

Tragic events
Truly tragic events like barabum said. These terrorists are a shame for the moslim community and i hope they will be found and punished quickly and severely. These people are exactly the kind of people that keep giving the moslim community a bad name.
Shame on them!

True tragedy
Je suis Charlie!
My condolences to all those cartoonists upholding the right of expressing ourselves and showing us how all parts of society can be taken to absurdity. Same goes for the policemen that died defending those cartoonists' rights, even the one whose religion was frequently aimed at.
But I can't help but feel an acid taste in my mouth when the whole continent reacts on a handful of men being shot, while not very far away far more innocents have died and still do for causes as rightful as this one. If people care as much, why is it not the same towards peaceful Syrians, Palestinians/Israeli, Ukrainians, and many others that are being oppressed by forces beyond them?
When a symbol is attacked, it is stronger then the count of human lives, however tragic that may be. I'm sorry for the loss of the families but that is not the reason I believe people care as much.
I care as a writer,
I care because humour in general is the only weapon we have extremists are genuinly afraid of.
I care because I can't accept physical violence as a solution when I feel hurt by words.
I care to show we don't need to retaliate using their crime.
What is worse though is that you've already forgotten the hundreds of thousands who have marched against violence in the middle east. It's not because you didn't see it on front page news that it didn't happen.
Above all, it's not because people don't stop their lives until every crime in the world is solved that they stopped caring.
