Articles clearly encouraging hostile take-over and the establishment of eNZ as a Serbian colony with Serbian as the official language, including one posted by the Serbian government. Most of these articles even refer to it as a "PTO," I think we can safely assume this is a PTO and a real threat, not just an exaggeration by some players.
The PTO group's opposition to the government is seemingly centered around the claim that we are composed of EDEN supporters. This is simply not true. To quote Myles Robinson: "when they accuse the provisional government--which, mind you, three of the top 4 are not Americans and two of the top 4 are RL Kiwis--of being nothing but individuals supporting EDEN, there is an issue." I myself am an RL kiwi, and came from playing in a Phoenix country for the last 2 years (eUK) and I have nothing but support for this group (overall). What reason is there to believe that this is not legitimate? Some of these people have spent real money on supporting the eNZ community.
I personally think there is every reason to support the provisional government - at least for this first month until citizenship is closed. After that, we can carry on like everyone else and begin politics as usual. This whole thing is temporary, and will be over in a few weeks. Just because Myles got butthurt about a comment doesn't mean he isn't doing his job properly as a provisional leader.
As calbe (another RL NZ player) has said earlier: "I'm not anti-serb, i'm anti hostile take-over + forced foreign policy." Serbians are fine, and they were good friends with me back when I was in the eUK SAS. I'd like to see Serbs in the eNZ government, since they seem to be so keen on it, but I want to see them for the right reasons. The only motives I've seen so far are about trying to make NZ a Phoenix country, or to post things about how they want to post articles in their native language. You're welcome to come and live here, post articles in whatever language you want and try to make us Phoenix. But please don't do it by invading a country while citizenship is open, verbally attacking the established community (without talking to any of them first) and claiming you want to change the flag and official language to your own. Active, engaged community members like Stojke89 are what I want to see more of.
Above all, I want to see eNZ as its own country. I don't want our country to be about EDEN vs. Phoenix, "RPers" vs. "Gamers," old players vs. new players or RL Kiwis vs. immigrants. So can we just keep the politics, defamation and power struggles out of this for now and focus on electing a group of people who have demonstrated that they hold the best interests of eNZ in mind and have optimistic goals for our country? If you disagree/agree with something, get involved with the system and the community. Talk to people, ask questions and start discussions. Angry articles and ad hominem comments aren't the way to grow eNew Zealand into a strong nation.

The prov govt was elected on the forums to try to "set stuff up" It by no means has to continue on into the future, but to be perfectly honest, i think they have done a fantastic job of starting us off on the right foot, and we would be lucky to have people of their caliber in leadership positions in the future

Alfagrem, I'm referring to the Serbian PTO group and the "Free New Zealand Party." While you might not like the Provisional Government and what they've done - and I really can see your point on this - the sudden arrival of this PTO group/creation of this party on the last day before candidates can be locked in smacks of opportunism and the worst of what this game can produce. And I'd say the same thing if it were Pizza The Hut and his gang coming in to take over. New Zealand deserves to be run by the people from all sides who have put the time and the work in to build a society and who are going to stay, not to those who will run off with the treasury and turn this country into a puppet of a specific power.

Both sides are calling in last minute votes from overseas - Check the US news, forums and other chat from the EDEN channels.
Nothing wrong with fighting fire with fire and leveling the playing field but then trying to paint one side as more righteous then the other certainly smacks of a heavy, heavy bias with a good deal of denial on top.

Is there really? Forum polls have been overwhelmingly against EDEN membership, there are quite a few ex-Phoenix or RL New Zealanders like myself who are naturally going to be opposed to jumping in EDEN straight away and most of the ex-Australians seem to be more keen on invading eAus and taking their titanium than allying with them. If I fought in the SAS against EDEN since before they even existed (Atlantis), wouldn't I be one of the first to get suspicious and call them out if I thought they were about to push us towards my long-time enemy?

Who exactly has been "alienated" here? *EVERY* RL New Zealander I've talked to on here is supportive of the provisional team, and as far as I'm concerned only 2 things have been done wrong (Rushing attack of India, deleting Alfa's forum account. Possibly that one article Myles wrote about Ajay, but that was personal, not governmental.)

Spud, first of all, the evidence I'm speaking of is that the leaders of the nation are from EDEN countries, there is always anti-Phoenix sentiment in the articles I read, there are the attacks against Russia and India, and finally people keep coming up with the reason that we should align ourselves with EDEN simply because there's this notion that the eSerbians are out to PTO us. Why does it have to be EDEN? Last I checked, eSerbian 😕= Phoenix. It's a militia from a single country from the alliance, not the whole thing.

As far as the rest is concerned, if you only see two things they have done wrong, then you clearly haven't been paying any attention. They lied about not wanting anyone to start any parties, because they needed someone to so they could take one over and not have to pay the 40 gold necessary. No one was willing to pay that amount, because everyone said that they would not get any of it back. That's why when anyone I hear says they are patriotic, I laugh at that. They're only patriotic as long as it doesn't cost them anything.
As far as alienation, there is the anti-eSerbian sentiment that is running wild, the xenophobic tendencies of everyone not wanting anyone to speak in anything other than English, and the aforementioned banning of Alfagrem and myself for dissenting with the provisional government.
Or are you going to simply ignore the blacklisting by the eNZ military against the KIP? Yeah, that's not alienating at all.
No one was banned from the eNZ forums. I just got back from vacation last night and found out about this mess and checked the ban log; no admins banned the accounts. Either they were hacked and deleted or self-deleted, both of which would explain why nothing shows up on the Admin logs. Alfagrem and Adam Reese are more than welcome to recreate their accounts on those forums.

I would say a fantastic job, because we have preparations being made already in terms of a mobile fighting force, and preliminary estimates of where to peg the currency and how to best set up NZ as a legitimate force on the world stage. The reason for most of the anti-Phoenix feelings is the current PTO attempt from serbia. The current provisional government at least says it is going to be neutral. Even if it is lying I think most people serious about being part of this new country have a better chance of enjoying themselves and having a free nation if they side with the provisional govt then if they are simply taken over by serbian PTO. If the serbians wanted to win our hearts and minds and not just the money in the treasury they would have spewed lies about how this provisional govt was EDEN agents and they were the true neutrals(like some in the comments has been). But the way they went about it they purposely alienated everyone else. If you don't like the provisional govt then hopefully PTOers will be gone next election and we can have a more democratic process. For now this is the best chance we have.
There will always be the threat of a PTO, kleeman. One of the primary reasons I am being the way I am is because the provisional government is doing a lot of questionable things while claiming it's to secure ourselves against a PTO the first month, but serving to divide us in the future. I'm looking for lasting unity, not unity in the first month.

That's not really saying much, voice. I've been part of EDEN nations, but I haven't really cared about EDEN. In other words, just being a part of a nation in an alliance doesn't necessarily mean you think highly of the alliance itself.
