To all Irishmen,
My name is Aries Prime. I was once a citizen of yours many years ago. In that time I grew to admire the Irish spirit. Your tenacity and willful independence has always been admired by me. It seemed that no matter how big the odds, Ireland always hit above their belt and won the fight.
I see that nowadays, things have changed. Recently, your CP contacted us for support against the Slovenian onslaught. After you all had been cashed out by your “loyal” allies, the UK, who you fought so hard for, we were approached to help save you. An NE proposal was launched while we debated what we were going to do. Ireland had been a faithful ally of ours in the past, helping us in our time of need. Why wouldn’t we return the favor?
It was argued that even if we didn’t block Slovenia from Irish lands, that perhaps we could give you all a chance by a much shorter occupation. After all, even though we are on different sides of the battlefield, loyalty still matters. I personally fought very hard to keep you free. I wanted us to block Slovenia so that Ireland could maintain a few regions. I invested my personal time and effort to see that we could achieve something like this.
What did we get in return? Your government ridiculed and ignored us. Yelling at us to hurry up and save them from certain destruction. Your media wrote propaganda against us, claiming our CP was a devil woman. And your countrymen fought fiercely against us, starting RWs and tanking hard to stop our coming.
I don’t know if this was due to poor communication or stubborn will, but Ireland has dug its own grave. Perhaps the next administration will be more tactful than this once, but let me be clear. I expected better of this country. Even worse, I feel betrayed by what I thought Ireland was. Perhaps that time has passed.

Slovenia is our loyal ally. Ireland is our old friend. There was no win here.

Did all Canadians drink too much or is this just a few that think attacking Ireland, not blocking Slovenia, and putting massive CO up against Ireland, is "Ireland betraying Canada"?
I asked your CP to attack regions that would of blocked Slovenia and she does not. Why attack Dublin first? No one contacted Canada about blocking Slovenia till after you attacked us. Ireland sat on the sidelines when you attacked the UK. Not sure what you are on about Ignore, no one from Canadian government even contacts Ireland after you declare war.
The NE was rogue . The best we could ever do for you was take as much territory as we could as quickly as we could. Politicaly there could be no blocking. That would be alliance suicide.

Yeah things have changed some. RTK is taken more seriously than before but I wouldn't say that his article on Canada is us betraying you. It's his own propaganda and very few of us supported it in this one scenario.
At the end of the day I see things as the opposite. We chose to stay neutral when the UK and Canada got into it. I personally can't wait to see the day we are fighting the brits and I never liked the idea of warming up to them, but some players in Ireland get everything they want.
Canada could've returned the favour and and stayed neutral when Slovenia headed our way but Rylde isn't about brotherhood, loyalty and diplomacy. He's about game mechanics and war and if old friendships aren't on the alliance page or MPP stack then they don't exist. Even though he's not CP he's like those players in Ireland that get what they want in the end and so here we are.
In all honesty despite our population problem our community has never been so united since the robbery. You'd know that if you ever decided to return Aries. The trolls/liars/cheats like PP, OJ, and the lot are all dead/inactive.
Good. Then perhaps come next term we can manage a deal for Ireland, no strings attached.
Of course, this will depend on who our next CP is. If it is a Rylde backed CP, then unfortunately I won't be able to do a damn thing. I don't think it will be though : )
When in doubt, blame it on Rylde. Solid strategy that many Canadians employ.

I thought our CP was on board with it. My assumption there was that that would only be the case if the Irish CP was on board.
This is the first I've seen of people being upset, one way or another. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Ireland and Canada had a unique relationship. We would help each other as long as there was no interference to alliance positions, but the alliance line was never crossed. Until now either country would not ask the other to "help" when they were being attacked. Possible exception would be to ask for mediation.
Today's leaders do not respect that idea that we are friends with different interests. There will be conflicts and bad feelings as a result. I don't see how you could expect anything else.

Slovenia is our ally and Ireland is our friend. Reminded me of when Ireland had to reluctantly host FYROM while they were beating us silly. No win in these kind of situations. It will still be much easier for Ireland if Canada is holding some regions, even if it all started with a rogue NE.

Slovenia declared Ireland as their objective ages ago:
*Canada aided Slovenia's creation of a landbridge to us across UK to us.
*Canada then NE's Ireland and attacks regions in a manner which aids Slovenia's advance despite the block being easily created.
^These are offensive moves with obv outcomes.
Supposedly China occupying you had absolutely nothing to do with it. Volk to me they were only trying to have a Congress as Greece was wiping their ass. The original story was that they had to go through Newfoundland to get to the region in UK that they were renting. Foolish me I believed him. and despite complaints I told everyone to stand down and let 'em pass. Instead of continuing into the UK fyrom made a left turn into Canada. I don't recall a huge effort to help Ireland, mostly them mucking around Canada until our allies were free to kick them and Croatia out.
How did we create a land bridge? Slovenia hasn't been fighting us. We had a rogue NE and rolled with it, I believe your government/people wanted us to get as many regions as we could before Slovenia got them. Blocking Slovenia was not an option, they are our ally and if their objective was to get to Ireland and we stopped them that would be alliance suicide. Slovenia has been good to us too.
If you don't want any of our help, just throw us out completely and have fun with Slovenia.
Do you really think the eUK government didn't want to help Ireland? We had you guys and Slovenia and all their allies (they have a much better MPP stack than the UK) we'd already got a lot of support from our allies so where in all this could we suddenly save Ireland?

Aries, Slovenia stated their objective was to wipe Ireland.
Canada knew this.
Canada not only aided Slovenia making their landbridge across UK,
Canada strategically blocked Ireland from opening a second front against Slovenia while UK were still on the map.
Then Canada proposes NE against Ireland. If Canada targeted a select few regions, Slovenia would be blocked from Ireland, but Canada attacks regions allowing Slovenia direct access around to Ireland.
Every single decision Canada has made from the outset maximized Slovenia's odds of wiping us.
Worse still, you used Ireland's reluctance to harm Canada to block Ireland out of the British theatre; used our friendship directly against us.
Got anything to say about that?
I'm not aware of any intentional means to screw over Ireland. Yes, we did ultimately decide not to block Slovenia, for the reasons I stated above. If it was really all just poor communication, then we can easily resolve the situation.

You did everything in your power to make things harder for us in Ireland, and now you feel betrayed? I'm not even sure are you serious. Canada could help Ireland, but you didn't want that.
We can't block our allies from their objective. What did you want us to do Don? Give Asteria the middle finger and destroy our alliance position to block Slovenia from you?
Ireland asks too much in this case and it really saddens me because when FYROM was in Ireland while occupying us we understood Ireland was in a conflict situation and didn't press the issue.
I do understand that. But Canadian President actually said she is gonna do it and then 'mistakenly' attacked the other region. If she didnt promise I would understand.
Also, Canada doesnt even have the alliance, only allies.
Your CP said to attack Louth, in a series of "hurry up" messages, Louth was impossible, I picked another target well before he came up with a different target, and then instead of just owning up to his own ignorance, you and him decided to run your mouths like you're superior players. The Irish CP has needed to get his act together since the start of term, and from the looks of it still hasn't, so as long as he's in power, Ireland will likely remain a mess.
I wasn't privy to such PM's, but never in the cabinet thread was there any directive that we were blocking Slovenia. We had a long discussion about how to resolve the conflict of interest and how to help Ireland, but blocking Slovenia was out of the question.
Canada is tied very closely to Asteria and throughout my political career this last year i've had constant access to Asteria and they have always accommodated us. It would be a mistake to underestimate Canada's connection with Asteria simply because we are not an Asteria member.
Regardless of our long term friendship, you decided to aid your ally Slovenia as a strategic move. I don't understand how you call that betrayal while you created advantages for Slovenia..
We needed a war for the tournament and i got us one. The money being made off it has benefited the whole country. This isnt long term occupation.
I didnt see the point in pissing off one of our strongest allies that doesnt tank against us by blocking Slovenia. I advised Molly Jo as much as well.

What the Irish Officials are leaving out is the entitled attitude they brought to every message. The Irish CP wants to talk about communication, when he's been nothing but rude to members of the Canadian government, asks for help at talks with Argentina, never bothers to message back again, comes again to us when Rylde proposes an NE, and basically starts rudely making strategic demands. I don't have to take orders from Ireland, you willingly let Macedonia into Canada, Ireland did nothing. This notion we blocked Ireland from attacking Slovenia first, bullcrap. We don't owe you anything, your CP and former Dictator need to learn if you want something show some F'ing respect in PMs, don't come to a negotiation with a so called "friend" with a list of demands. Further fact is you only asked for our help because the UK wasn't going to give it, they had to save themselves, and they took a deal to leave Ireland out in the cold to do it. Maybe next time you'll elect people who know how to ask for help without sounding like they are entitled to control Canada.
