I'm just doing my usual weekend twitch here as I only really log in on the weekend when I can get some real internet, but I did log into IRC and check the place out a bit and it seems pretty dead.

So I was just wondering if it's still alive and maybe I've just been logging in at the wrong times? Or maybe it really is dead, kinda like this game.

If that's the case then I'd recommend everyone checking it out. IRC is only fun if there's other people. Considering it's long and infamous history of friday night shenanigans it would be a real shame to see it die.

If you're wondering what all this is, then here's a bit of a guide for you.

To get there, there are a few channels to go through.

The first and my personal preference is mibbit.com - when you get to the homepage it should look something like this . Click on the Launch Mibbit Client button. Type /j #ausrep and you're in.

From there you can create a user name and be identified which makes your name your own and can't be stolen by anyone without a password. To do so

Once that is done you can then identify yourself by typing this each time you log in.

N.B. remove the brackets and never forget the forward slash otherwise everyone will see your password!
