I've got rainy's back, so should you

Day 2,569, 15:16 Published in USA USA by dmjohnston

Here we go.

Mood Music: I live in Seattle; I know the rain.

It was shaping up to be a fairly dull CP race this month. I was preparing my harpoons for the run I assumed Oblige was going to make at #8. To my surprise, he did not enter the fray, yielding the stage to Deepchill for a seemingly unopposed run. I like Deepchill, having worked with him in a variety of capacities over the last year or so, including my brief stay in EZC as a Regiment Captain. While an unopposed race is rather dull, I was ok with the outcome because of my general liking of the candidate.

Until yesterday.

I had a chance last week to meet up with Aramec in the flesh and have lunch. We had delicious burgers (mine a churken, his a...some other strange meat combo that involved a duck I think) and discussed eRep because what else did we have to talk about? Following that conversation, I was not surprised at all when I saw his article yesterday. He made some very important points, and out of that article was born something magical.

When I first took over again as Secretary of Defense under Molly Emma with the newly merged USAF reeling from the effects of shoddy leadership and poor handling of changes, a bright spot in the darkness was rainy sunday. Molly and I both felt that with the new arrangement, a stable hand was necessary to counter the effects of an endless cycle of change in the White House and the Pentagon. That hand was the Operations Commander. That hand was rainy.

I had the great pleasure of working with her for a few months following that as we tried to develop USAF into the unified organization it was meant to be and we both knew it could be. rainy is a valuable member of our community, for this and so many other reasons.

I’m honored to have the opportunity to endorse, support, and vote for rainy sunday for CP on the 5th, and I implore you to do the same.

Dio bless you, and Dio bless the eUnited States of America.
