I don't want to be your CP.

Day 2,174, 09:25 Published in Canada Canada by Quim B. Muffins

Frankly, I know my limitations, both time-wise and as far my skill set and I am not the man for the job. So why am I running, if I have no intentions of winning? Kicks? Hellz ya! To be a pain in the arse? Sure. But more than all that, as a PP with the responsibility of picking a Candidate to support in the upcoming Election, there was no one running that I felt comfortable supporting.

Traditionally my party would support the MDP Candidate. The ties between the Bacon Party and the MDP go way back. Thing is, their Candidate, this month, is Rylde. I have never really had much of a relationship with Rylde. He is an accomplished member and plays with passion, but his temper and fits of irrationality tend to get him in trouble. Remember the months and months and months of Spanish occupation… he was the spark lead to all that. Has he grown as a player? I dunno. Is a Rylde Presidency, despite how fun it might be, worth the risk?

Then we have DMV, who, if I am being honest, is the most articulate of the batch. His platform is more polished… I don’t really support a tax rate of 1% because it leaves the gov’t coffers too thin, but he has a fiscal vision and I respect that. All this said, and if we were to use his last Presidency as an example, this is a man that does what he pleases. He has little to no respect for Congress or how things are traditionally done in eCan. Flash forward a bit to the end of his Presidency, and the month after it and we see a man that was ruthless towards his political opponents and then tried to rebrand himself as a lulzy PTOer. Much of the eCan population felt uneasy that he was still dusting off the stars and stripes as he plunked himself into the eCan CP chair. Talk of PTO (Manifest Destiny anyone?) from a former eAmerican makes many uncomfortable, myself included. DMV needs to re-earn our trust. He is not there yet.

Where are we? Yes, Oinyo… if you have been around eCanadian politics and if you know anything about myself as a player, you know that I can’t, in good conscience support him as a CP Candidate. I left eCan when he became CP months back… it was a rash decision, but I felt it was the only way I could make a political point. Oinyo is fun, but I do not believe he has the skill set to be a good CP. I will leave it at that.

Those are the big three. Tembutt might run, although I don’t his name on the Ballot. Oh and Mr Bond, gawd love him, is running again. It wouldn’t be a CP Election without him. So there you have it, those are your choices. Personally, I can’t find a Candidate that really inspires me to vote and I asked my Party and there wasn’t really any real clear endorsement of any particular Candidate, so to to hell with it, I’ll run. At least I’ll know how to vote.

In closing, I know I haven’t a shot at winning, I don’t want to win. I therefore have no real platform, I will not go so far as to publish my choice for Cabinet, although it might be fun to throw some names around, ruffle some feathers… but nah, my Candidacy is little more than a protest of the real Contenders. I had no idea where to vote, so I decided to vote for myself. You guys can join me, if you like.

Thanks for reading.
Keep your sticks on the ice.
Be excellent to each other.
