Higher Work Tax and damage dealt per Fighting member of top MUs
Elanaconda
With the latest rise in Work Tax it is time for a new column from my side.
First of all let me state what I think of the latest rise, I can understand the rate has gone up after our glorious defeat against Argentina in supporting MexiBro, just the height the Work Tax is now I just cannot accept.
I fully understand we need to replenish our reserves but this is just too much, in the long run this rate will cost us more then it will get dollars into the reserve, mainly cause of people quitting since they cannot afford this ridiculous high rate.
This all made me do some research on Tax in other countries, the following list is countries with highest Work Tax in eRepublik:
1. Belarus 25%
2. South Africa 20%
3. USA 12%
4. South Korea 10%
5. Uruguay 7%
6. Colombia 7%
7. Bolivia 6%
8. Serbia 5%
9. Argentina 5%
10.Canada 5%
Several other countries also have a 5% rate.
Congratulations eUSA you have won yourself the Bronze medal of Taxes in eRepublik!
So our rate is one of the highest in eRepublik, knowing that, and also knowing we have a government funded Military Unit, I looked up some more statisics. I wanted to know how the damage dealt last month by our United States Armed Forces is compared to other MUs in our country. I will compare them to the following MUs, Easy Company, Seal team 6, eUS Military, VMA-214 The Black Sheep and SHIELD
Some things I will take into account are the following thing: Members, actual fighting members, damage dealt last month, damage per member, damage per fighting member.
I dare to say the results are SHOCKING, especially if you keep in mind that USAF has a $ 125,000 budget every week.
Name.....Members.Fighters.Total Damage.Damage per Member.Damage per Fighter
USAF..............538......139....43.320kkk..........80.521kk..........311.659kk
Easy C.............184.......78....26.582kkk.........144.462kk..........340.783kk
ST6....................81.......21....24.529kkk.........302.828kk........1.168.053kk
eUS Mil...........266.......89....20.749kkk..........78.004kk..........233.136kk
VMA-214........518.......37....12.491kkk..........24.114kk..........337.606kk
SHIELD..........179.......38....13.854kkk..........77.401kk..........364.601kk
added information
Mea Culpa, i have used wrong numbers.
I will correct this with a new article on day 2,531 which will show the right numbers. I used an external source which displayed incorrect numbers, will use ereps own numbers for tomorrows article. The conclusion will mostly be the same, but as said, Mea Culpa.
end of added information
Basically the above table shows us that, even with the $ 125,000 budget each week, our national Military Unit cannot produce the numbers other MUs can produce with their communes.
I think this should change asap, if we can make our government realise the same, we can cut our budget nearly in half and thus we dont need the income at the rate it is now, or we dont need to keep the taxes this high for too long.
I also think this is a bridge too far to even start talking about in Congress, but who knows...
Vote for a better eUSA

Nice article!

Good job!
USAF is a failed experiment, who would have thought?
Baaaaaaaaa o7
Officers that abandoned it probably didn't help much.
You're welcome. One might wonder where you'd be if we hadn't left the Air Force...where you commanded the divisions we created. Of course, your rise in the USAF occurred after you left the eUS Mil.
Kettle? Is that you? Back up a little, kiddo.
I didn't leave eUS mil in shambles.
Good data - rotten formatting
The budget is 125k per week, actually. Of which we take 55k, currently.
In the last year, we've reduced our spending by about 75%.
The thing about MUs is that someone is always footing the bill. For USAF, that's taxes. For private MUs like Blacksheep, that's individuals that are spending their own money to support the MU. The cost of a tank is the cost of a tank. There isn't something magical that PMUs are doing to save money, their spending just isn't public knowledge.
Additionally, most of the "members" of the USAF MU in game aren't really members. They aren't receiving supplies, aren't working in communes, etc., so their data can't really be considered if you're going make this kind of comparison.
But hey, it supports your ideas, so why bother with proper analysis, right?
So you basically say that there are "members" from USAF who are in other MUs?
Thats not the place they should be imo
If they get government funding (paid tanks from taxes) then let them fight in USAF so we get good statistics, and no i am not gonna run through all seperate fighters to add them to a MU, thats not gonna work for two reasons. 1. I dont have the time for that, 2. I would still see a "wrong" MU besides their name.
No, I'm saying there are "members" in the in game MU that aren't receiving anything and often don't fight at all.
I know DMJ, thats why i used the difference between members and fighters, members are just in the MU, Fighters are actually doing damage in battles
The table is a little easier to read now, thanks.
So why do reports say getting 125k you say only getting 55k where is the other 70k going?
I would assume that after 12 terms in Congress you'd understand how our budgetary system works. USAF is budgeted for up to 125k per week (currently). However, I only take 55k (currently) meaning that the other 70k goes to our reserves.
If you are taking less and it is going in the reserves I don't see why 10% WT wouldn't have been fine instead of the 12%. The only reason the other people in congress went with 12% was to make up for when it was 8% which is just a slap in the face to the people.
You know how much was spent on the last month, and you know that another threat will cost as much or more. We have different opinions on what is "sufficient" in terms of a reserve.
As DMJ said I have been in congress 12 times and still have no idea exactly where or how the money is spent after they get it.
I've given numerous reports in Congress. All Congress has to do is ask for it.
Our budget should have the spending in it. I shouldn't have to ask you for it should be there of us to see.
The budgetary line items are set as a maximum. You can observe the requests being made each week in the CBO forum that all congressmen have access to.
Per the constitution:
3.11: Budget Allocations
Any budget line holders (Organizations that receive Gold or any currency from the Congressional Budget Office according the US Budget) must, at the request of Congress, submit a report to Congress (or the Select Committee on Intelligence depending on sensitivity). If the Speaker of the House determines that something has wrongly been submitted to the Select Committee on Intelligence, they may move it to the Private Congressional Affairs board.
"at the request of Congress"
I have provided said report every time I've been asked, which is probably 3 or 4, over the last year or so. If you feel that is not adequate, you're welcome to seek a constitutional amendment.
Additionally:
"The Department of Defense has authority over all financial disbursements to elements of the armed forces, based on the monthly budget passed by Congress."
Until such time that you change the constitution, I'll continue to do my job as constitutionally outlined.

I find it all funny cause the rules are made up as you like and broke when you like. when ever someone bring up anything about how money is being spent in congress certain people go nuts. I have been through it in the past and bit tired of it.
Are you saying that I "made up" what I pulled from the constitution that you can access any time you like? Or that I'm not abiding by said constitution?
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with that comment.
His argument has hit a solid wall, and he is blathering incomprehensibly, I'd say.
Glad you commented Kemal perfect example. he said congress would just ignore any amendment made about the work tax and change it as you need so even if we hit our reserve "GOAL" you could just say that is not enough and keep taxes high.
I agree that our original goal was not enough. That's why I supported keeping taxes at 10%.
I don't disagree with having a reserve but I do disagree with where we are taking it from. You do know if we really got invaded heavy no amount of money we could save with even higher taxes could help. All this high tax does is effect our community sad you don't see that.
Did you notice that there are conflicting stories about where the tax goes?
An unending occupation with no hope of escape would be hell of a lot worse for our community. If we get invaded, we will reduce our taxes to minimums to avoid giving our massive revenue to the enemy, which means we will have minimal income (basically none). If we aren't prepared before that happens, we will spend months upon endless months under occupation with no way to get out from under it.
@GOTJ, what conflicting stories?
Refer to the comment below.
"An unending occupation with no hope of escape" Hey! This is a perfect description of how I feel while watching the current administration destroy the unity and overall playerbase of our nation. As well as watching them be the reason that so many people have just quit trying to run factories.
You may feel it's worse if another nation comes in and tries to do these same things, but personally I find it worse if our own worst enemy is ourselves, which is exactly what this tax has been creating. A nation that is hostile to its own people. This is the observable truth DMJ, on the feeds of many factory owners, Americans, and also in the many discussions where those who aren't two-clickers (and even some two-clickers) have come out to support the anti-tax crowd so that they can start playing the game again.
Now I assume you may reply with the standard "Actually, the taxes are protecting our nation" bit where you ignore the fact that all it's doing is dividing it while growing a mountain of coins that's as easy to spend at any amount as a teenager's credit card,, but hey it's as you yourself said, "it supports your ideas, so why bother with proper analysis, right?"
The Work Tax only hits people who WaM, Henry!!!!
People who WORK AS A MANAGER, are people who are RICH - they have LOADS of companies.
If you only have 1-10 companies, you won't make much profit REGARDLESS of the tax.
If you have 11-50 companies, you will be making some profit REGARDLESS of the tax.
If you have more than 50 companies, then you MAY be eligible to complain from high tax.
If you have more than 100 companies, then you are sponsoring the government REGARDLESS of the tax.
In all occasions, YOU WILL STILL BE MAKING PROFIT.
Mike what profit ? there is no profiting. the only people who are profiting are the ones getting the tax money not the tax payers.
WAMing is profitable in the majority of companies.
http://erepublikanalyzer.com/RentabilidadFabricacion.aspx
The high prices on the market at the moment are from the Epic Warfare after it is over prices will drop.
WAMing will still be profitable.
Funny the mike said it not many have enough factories but they are going to make a profit not liking but that 5-6cc per company I am sure hurts them not everyone has an Tax piggy bank.
Was that even English?
[removed]
No it wasn't lol this is
The mike says not many people have allot factories if this is true then say someone only has one aluminum factory that produces 250 wrm that sells on market for .02 and the get 5cc after the 5-6cc tax paid they make nothing or lose money. Now being most new people would only have low wrm and frm plants they will always lose money and mine as well not run them at all cheaper to buy them on the market.
Let me correct this one aluminum factory that produces 250 wrm that sells on market for .02 and they get 5cc after the 3.29 tax paid they make 1.71cc and if you have anything lower then aluminum you break even or lose money.
Analysis of profit is flawed - WRM is in oversupply can take a long time to sell when things are normal - so very often sells for less than .02
I often get @ .015
I know many folks that stop producing before the tax increase because it was taking too long to sell and not enough storage to hold it
my guess is tax increase has further reduced production
Maybe the import tax increase will reduce eUS oversupply and help

from my understanding South Africa is PTOed
The PTOers are trying to kill off the population with high taxes.
You mean SA or other countries?
Yes; I meant South Africa.
Looks like it. South Africa's tax jumped from 7% to 20% just four days ago.
http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/South-Africa/150377
Can confirm, SA is PTO'd.
