Half Way to Central Greece

Dear All,
After I published my article yesterday about Central Greece, I got many comments and PM-s, where on one hand I was encouraged to continue on the other hand I was warned how irresponsible i can be.

I was thinking how to find of a compromise solution, when Serbia can aim for more than she has, having the costs and the risks as much as possible under control.
We also have to keep in mind, that for the moment Serbia will not get any support from Peace, since Serbia is just too far away from CG, while Turkey is right there. So, we must get closer...how?
We may cut our long journey in 2 parts:
STEP 1: Get closer to the real battlefield by forging a swap of regions with Bulgaria. The scenario is the following:
a. Bulgaria declares war to Serbia = 245 Gold.
b. Attack Vidin, Ruse and Plovdiv. Costs 160 Gold. Pay for 2 x Q3 DS to Bulgarians (200 Gold?), altogether 360 Gold. 6 battle hero medals sold = 300 Gold revenue, total cost of 60 Gold
c. Bulgaria attacks Vidin and Ruse. It costs 105 Gold. Serbian President retreats from battlefiled. 4 Battle hero medals could be sold = 200 Gold. Net revenue of 95 Gold.
Total cost to become neighbours with Greece = 245 +60 - 95 = 210 Gold. Wanna me pay half of it?
Of cours we have to keep in mind, that Plovdiv belongs to Bulgaria and later must be given back, but that is not an additional cost, but additional revenue of 50 Gold due to selling the battle hero medals.
STEP2: If and when Serbia has "conquered" Plovdiv, there are 2 alternatives:
1. Obtain a low-cost (and high risk) war by attacking Croatia 245 Gold, minus 2 battle hero medals = 145 Gold, but keep in mind, the related risks.
2. Make a real war declaration against Greece for 845 Gold, without activating Croat MPP-s. The difference is 700 Gold, but once we are close to Greece, Peace may be more interested to participate on the costs.
....and the Rock and Roll starts...or not. We will see.

Btw, I also began to write an article
eBulgarians and eSerbians cooperated successfully through some tactical region-swapping in the past, we can do it again!

But you also have to work out all the details - the restoration of the hospitals which will be destroyed in the process, the economic disruption due to declaration of war, etc.
My guess is many eBulfgarian companies will be glad to get a license to the eSerbian market for 5 gold, and most eBulgarians will be glad to get some action, but there also will be some apprehension about asking for trouble when squeezed between two strong neighbors like eRomania and eGreece.

Looks like things just got a tiny little bit easier, Turkey seems to be getting thrown out of Greece... Can't stop to wonder if some people answered greek calls for help after all 😃

Sorry, I wrote 2 Q3 Defense Systems, actually there are 2 x Q3 Hospitals. In the plan I wrote: "Pay for 2 x Q3 DS to Bulgarians (200 Gold?)", although Q3 Hospitals are out of fashion, maybe Americans are buying them, nobody else. So I estimated their cost as 200 Gold, it can be argued whether is it more or less.
Companies in Plovdiv: I assumed there cannot be that many companies there.
Companies in Ruse and Vidin may not even notice the whole thing, since territory swaps are done usually between 2.00 and 2.01 am or so. (Tough luck for Presidents and Battle Hero Medal Hunters)
Being placed between Romania and Greece has never been a safe thing. I am not in the position to guarantee anything, I am just a bored newspaper writer. 🙂 But I am happy to see You here.

Maybe we should wait for Greeks to lose their MPP, and why so much fuss about Turkey they are not member of the PEACE and why should any PEACE country support Turkey, if Turkey lose better for us because we will have no competitors in our way to central Greece!

You are missing couple of things.
First of all, the one thing Bulgaria is proud of is that it has never lost an original region. I doubt we will be very happy to do this now. If Bulgaria agrees, it'd probably ask for some sort of compensation as we would essentially lost the one thing we can boast about.
Second, you will end up activating Greece's MPPs and this is no small obstacle. Hungary and Indonesia are the only countries who were able to win one on one against Fortis, Eden, and co. and they did it with the opponents heavily distracted elsewhere and with heavy tanking. Your population cannot do nearly enough damage to even come close to the one Indonesia/Hungary does and so a victory in Greece will require an insane amount of tanking. I wonder where do you think you can get this kind of money from?
And one last thing: If you think you can sell BH medals for 50g, you are way out of your min😛) This kind of money are paid for RW medals, not BH. There is a slight difference🙂
Yeah, montaigne you could have contacted me a few days ago if you knew a few chaps who'd be ready to pay 50 gold for a BH medal.😛
Also how would Serbia fight through all of the MPPs of Greece? FORTIS/EDEN forces would have to be tied down elsewhere in some very serious battles for Serbia to have any chance. But then again even if you somehow succeeded you'd just lose Central Greece to a counter-attack a few days or weeks later. You'd have to take out the entire Greece all by yourselves against lots of MPPs to get a firm hold on that region. chuckcha is absolutely correct, only the very strongest nations would have a chance to do that.

when i play game and see the slim chance of success, i'll go for it. and i know how slim it is, but we need that jump start.
this game is turning into waiting on "other guy's" mistake and everybody is playing so-so smart. how long do you think is life expectancy of erepublik player?
i still say it's possible (and i agree with: timing our attack, invest A LOT of gold into this, and annulling the MPP's later on). over&out

1. I know, that without Bulgaria's help the whole concept must be trashed. I was using as precedent the example how Scotland was temporary "occupied" by Hungary for strategic reasons and then given back to UK according to the contract. My idea was that you never get anything if you never ask.
2. The cost of Battle Hereo Medals: I got this info, but I admit I did not follow the actual prices. For sure it is a demand on the market for it and technically it is possible to secure the Battle Hero Medal to someone in a "fixed" battle. I will investigate for most recent market prices.
3. I know that Serbia alone cannot win against whole Fortis / Eden. This is why I wrote, that we can do the half way on our own and then see whether are we given equal chances to Turkey. Maybe not and then the whole issue was pointless. But again you never get anything if you never ask.
Should I have done cost calculation mistakes related to the "Half way to Central Greece" I am prepared to cover them - if the plan turn to reality - up to 150 Gold (my whole money).
Perhaps Greece (backed by E/F) is strong enough to defend CG against Serbia and Turkey (backed by Peace). In this case for some hundreds of Golds we only got the thrill of PLAYING our big game instead of sitting in the stadium and WATCH how others are playing it.

I propose to you that you contact OSeBiH to help you in your attack.I believe that they will accept it gladly because it would be a great battle and a great TW for them as well,and they can pack a solid punch as well.That would strengthen the relations between eBiH and eSerbia. Bosnia can also offer a q5 hospital to eBulgaria and that would open the eBiH market for eSerbian iron companies.
That is something that all of you should consider as an real option.
This is not in the spirit of PEACE.

I am still digging for info about cost (or price) for a Battle Here Medal, nevertheless the cost of the most recent Resistance Hero Medal was 111 Gold.

If it is a "pay-back-guarantee", if it has large publicity, and if a battle is well organised, than you can get good money for a BHM. Nevertheless, if you have opportunity for a BHM for 10 Gold, please let me know!

we can conquer CG now.1st time we couldnt cause romania and usa helped them (and because of this usa lost 2 regions) and there were some bugs.we need help but greece isnt bigger than turkey(go to war page and see) we cant defeat them because of greeces mpps
