Burası belediye binası. Pek çok devlet sairesi şehir merkezinde bulunuyor. Salak sulak yerlerde vergi dairesi, emniyet müdürlüğü aramana gerek yok. Hepsi birden yürüyüş mesafesinde.

The town of Haskovo is found in southern Bulgaria, close to Stara Zagora and Dimitrovgrad and not far away from the border with Greece and Turkey.

The settlement appeared 1000 years ago and developed as a craftsmen town. It was much smaller than the nearby fair town of Ouzoundzhovo. Haskovo’s fast development started after the Balkan Wars, in the beginning of the 20th century, when refugees moved to the region.

Today Haskovo has turned into a relatively big and modern city. Tourists can visit various sites. The town’s history museum has rich expositions on various topics among which archaeology, ethnography, Bulgarian revival and independence wars, customs and craftsmanship.

Haskovo also has a literature museum, an art gallery and two Greek churches. The churches of St. Archangel Mihail and the Virgin Mary are a must see. Try to visit the newly renovated building of drama theater Ivan Dimov. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful constructions in the country.

If you have enough time, visit the nearby village of Kasnakovo. Close to the village you can see the remains of an ancient Roman sanctuary, constructed by a Roman warrior and his wife to honor the nymphs of Aphrodite.

Haskovo has several other attractions. The mosque Eski Dzhami was constructed in 1395. It is the first mosque constructed on the Balkan Peninsula. The monument of the Virgin Mary entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest statue of Mary worldwide.
