That was a war crime. What about the Sheffiled, Coventry, Ardent, Antelope. Sir Galahad, Sir Tristam, Conveyor, Alacrity, Avenger, Arrow, Argonaut, Antrim, Glamorgan, Glasgow, Brilliant, Broadsword, Plymouth, Ambuscade, Sir Lancelot? it wasn't a war crime, even the argentine navy has accepted that. You bring a cruiser out of port during a war and put it in a threatening position near an enemy carrier group, you can expect it to be sunk
also a good deal of those weren't RN ships, they were RFA or civilian ships that had been requisitioned
