Join the new world

Today I am very proud to announce that I am throwing my hat into the ring for the New Era Party President elections held on the 15th of February. Early I know but there are a lot of things I want to achieve and why not set the ball rolling now? These are very exciting times for New Era after the recent Congress elections where (with the help of our friends at PCP) we finished as the party with the most votes. I shall be running because Sir Winston Churchill is stepping down to fully concentrate on the British Army our official military Unit.

So why should the good folks of New Era put their trust in me and vote for Dr Hugh Jardon?



Well this is where I list my experience like a young nervous lad at a job interview at a skin flick film studio hoping that I measure up -

I have represented the eUK in Congress four times, Once for the British Tea Party under the ESO banner, another time for ESO and twice for New Era. All times I have entered Congress I am proud to say I have maintained a 100% voting record on all proposals put to Congress.

I have held other positions within New Era including Governor and more recently Spokesman where I have felt I have given my all and improved New Era's image with the voting public.

I am Commander of the Royal Air Force Military Unit that is associated with New Era and is an off shoot of the British Army. During my time in eRepublik, well since True patriot medals were introduced so we have an accurate figure, I have laid down 342 million damage for our Country, not much compared to some but proof that I am an active player of eRepublik.

I have spent many seconds (and even Minutes on some occasions)creating Images for New Era for use in our articles, as well as making and distributing the New Era avatars to any member that requested one...offer to that is still open people, just send me a PM with a link to your chosen image or just informing me what you would like in your avatar and I will sort you one out ASAP.



And this is the part where I mention what I hope to achieve -

Well as Party President I get the authority to rubber stamp decisions with regards to New Era, of course without you there would be no New Era...so accordingly I would like you to have a louder voice. So referendums and polls will be taken via articles, I will release articles asking for YOUR views and votes on matters such as - Who we as a party should back in the Presidential elections and what our set policies should in with regards to the thorny issue of tax levels within the eUK...to name but a few. The articles will not be publicly promoted so it will be easier to register opinions and votes from just our membership. You will be informed via our news feed and a PM when these articles are released.

You will have plenty of opportunity to have your say and If you would prefer you can send me a PM and your vote/or opinion will be just as valid.

I will also look to revamp our procedure with regards to selecting our Congress candidates. We are proud of our record of helping new players into congress, however this does have short falls with regards to some players being unaware of how Congress operates. So accordingly under my tenure i would like firstly to establish a mass PM with all Candidates, as well as a few chosen experienced members so we can all discuss the roles and expectations the party and the country will have of them as Congress members. The mass PM will continue during the life of that months Congress so new Congress members have instant access to experienced heads who can advise in an environment where the Congress member will not feel they will be mocked or ignored for their inexperience.

Of course if elected I will be responsible for selecting the order of preferences for our Congressional candidates. A few months ago Sage Goku rated our candidates on order of activity and i see no reason why this excellent scheme should not continue. I shall be noting the activities of members via comments in articles written by fellow New Era members as well as official Government articles, shouts in their newsfeed and by their own articles as well. There is no excuse for Candidates to not be releasing their own 'Presentations' as the New Era Media Fund will pay the costs of setting up a newspaper...so get writing.



I will also look to establish a small committee of volunteers for sending out PM's to members at election days so we can achieve a higher percentage of members voting. We have seen what we can achieve already but i believe we can do better at elections. That being said I shall also approach PCP to see if they again would be interested in standing for the Congress elections on February 25th under the New Era banner. The PCP vote was never, and never will be, under valued and working together we both gained for our own cause as well as working for a shared goal. I would be proud to continue that friendship that flourished so well just 3 days ago.

I also will update our recruitment message so that it features all the latest developments within the party, everything from the Media Fund to our latest election results, details about our official Military Unit and important links we see as relevant.

Official party roles - Well we will obviously need a new spokesman but i do have someone in mind for that role. As for Councillor, well that position sadly became available yesterday and I will be offering that position to Sage Goku if he is interested. He is a controversial figure to some outside New Era but his vast experience is something I think is invaluable to New Era. Goku has helped our party more than people realise and I do believe he was an overall success as a Government minister as well. I will be talking to those currently in their roles about how we can progress the party further and If they are willing to continue.

As mentioned before I will update the recruitment message and will personally continue to send that out, One thing for sure is that I will work damned hard to increase our membership numbers because we have progressed so much these last few months that we can not allow ourselves to think ''we have arrived on the eUK political scene'' as UKRP are testament how quickly a party can find themselves outside the top 5. Of course it will be difficult to close the gap considerably to TUP and UKPP but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try.

We have recently established a working friendship with PCP, UKPP and One Vision. I will make no apologies for looking to further those bonds but New Era will also listen to other parties and we will not turn away from any party that approaches us for dialogue.

And finally...I will look to update our logo if that is acceptable to you horrible lot. The time is coming where our members are starting to wonder when we will be fielding our very first candidate for the eUK's Presidency. The time is coming when the country will rightfully expect to see a cast iron set of policies for that candidate and the time has come for us to accept that we do play a large role in the political make up of the eUK. So i will look to upgrade the logo and modernise it, the name will not be open to debate as it suits our political movement perfectly.
