eAustralia Choosing Allies - Its A Friendship Thing

Day 1,909, 17:33 Published in Australia Australia by Mr Crumpets

Good Afternoon eAustralia,

In the coming days Prime Minister Tim_Holtz and the eAustralian Senate will have some choices to make.

It's clear from this comment by the eChile President in a diplomatic meting with our Prime minister that we could be facing an attempted wipe on the eve of the next senate elections.
[17:49] give me some days to talk about the arbitration with our people... but with the arbitration forget we gonna help you with anything this month... we gonna do everything to you dont have congress, we dont gonna sign another treaty, and the arbitration is gonna be our last meeting

This means that eChile, Indonesia, the CoT alliance and the eUSA will be waging war against us.

We need MPPs... and we need them now... but we must be careful in who we choose.

The reality we must face is that we need to ally with nations that are not in or pro CoT. An MPP with them would be a waste of money and time.

For example, the eUSA is currently a no-no. We have been very loyal friends in the past, but when it comes down to it, they will side with the alliance they want to join. If they fought for us, a certain veto of their CoT membership application would happen.

We cannot be friends with CoT nations. Whether we like some of them or not, they will all put their alliance first, meaning aiding eChile and eIndonesia in their campaigns against us.

So now we must find new friends and renew some old friendships.

When I suggested eChina during my election campaign, the critics said well every other country is going to attack them, why bother being their allies with them?.

Ummmmm, guys... that's also our situation as well. Maybe you shouldn't think that way!

I believe in the opposite of what the critics are thinking. The best time to make allies (and more importantly friends) is when they are down and out. They appreciate that you're there in the trenches with them and helping them when they need it most.

Joining a larger, stronger nation has it's pitfalls. Yes they pack a punch, but so many nations are calling on them at once. It's a case of 'take a ticket and stand in line'.

Say you win Tattslotto. As expected, people you don't know or haven't heard of in ages will come up to you looking for a piece of the cash. How do you feel? Annoyed. Where were they when you had nothing?

That's how a larger nation feels about us. Always looking for something with nothing to offer ourselves.

However, if you did win Tattslotto, you'd share a bit with your family and some of your closest friends wouldn't you? Of course! They have stuck by you when times are tough, so naturally you'd reward them when the good times come.

That's why I preach the like of eChina, eTaiwan, ASGARD... so even if ASGARD is getting it's butt kicked now, by joining them in their darkest hour, there's no doubt they'll repay our friendship when the good times come.

So instead of looking for a short term with our MPPs, let's look ahead to the future a bit.

Remember, at the moment we have few friends in the eRepublik world and many don't exactly trust eAustralia (rightly or wrongly).

Let's sign up with nations that do need our help, build a good friendship and watch it pay off in the long run.
