First time that I saw the topic of Brain party contest I said that’s not good for me. Not because I am a soulless person or because I don’t like to help people in erepublik but because it is a quite sensitive topic. Then I received a message from a person and I said lets give it a try.

A foster parent in erep is not something new. Since my first day here I watched wealthy that had one or two younger ones under their protection. They provided to them the necessary things in order advance and in time become self sustained citizens. This is an act of altruism that I really liked and I still like. It is something that gives meaning to the word community. I know many good players-persons t hat got help when they where young and now they help others so this is something like tradition 😃 . I used to be one of those e-parents with some kids I was successful with others lets just say that I wasn’t lucky enough.

Choosing a young one to be his/her foster parent in my opinion is not easy. There are many reasons that make this one a hard choice.



• First you have to be sure that the one you want to take under your protection is a real player and not a clone because investing money in somebody’s clone is not so good. In fact is like the clone master stealing from you.

• The second thing that you have to know is if this person is active. In my opinion active is the person who comes in chat or other means of communication that his/her community has chosen. You don’t have to leave your e-bones in a chat room but people must know that you exist.

• Next step is to make sure that this new one can’t afford all those things that are required in order to play and enjoy the game like all the others. This is the hard part. The game has become a little bit more expensive than it used to be because the X2 consumption of food. This is like in one day it doubled the number of citizens. For some of us this is good because we play more we fight more and in general we do more 🙂. So you have to be honest with this person by telling him/her what you can provide, if you can’t provide 100% then this is something to be known. Not because it is bad but because it will put the limit of the expectations in a realistic base.

• Last but not least is your ability to help this individual to advance. He/she doesn’t need only your money, advice and guidance is that what he/she needs. Tanking is not for everyone and from time to time it is quite stupid. So this person might one day become the next CP or the next alliance leader and he/she would achieve this because of your help.

So be e-father or e-mother is something good, I believe that whoever is capable of doing this should do it. It will give you pleasure to know that you helped somebody even if this is just in a game.

The topic of this contest had also one real life parameter. This was the reason that I didn’t want to take part in this contest. I don’t have much experience to this so those who know me will understand. For all the others the only thing I can say is this photo
