Dania goes to Congress

Day 584, 06:46 Published in USA USA by Dania

It is an incredible honor to accept the appointment as Washington's newest Congresswoman. Our state has a long history of outstanding representation, and you have my word I will do my very best to extend that line.

First and foremost I must thank the voters of Washington who turned out in record numbers for this election. That vote of confidence is deeply appreciated and I will never forget who I represent!

Appreciation is also offered to the three fine candidates who volunteered to serve our state and ran strong campaigns- OrangeLobster, Sam Brusca, and especially ssomo. As the United Independents Party candidate, ssomo was a formidable opponent but a perfect gentleman. One of my main regrets of the campaign is that I will not get to serve in congress with this talented and thoughtful person.

No one can run a Congressional campaign by themselves, and believe me I've had more help than most. Sincere gratitude is expressed to my dear friend and confidant Cerb. Without his calm and sage advice I wouldn't be here today. Not everyone gets to have a best friend in eRep, but I do.. thank you Cerb.

Thank you Inwegen, 4x Washington State Congressman who upon retiring this month did everything he could to bring me up to speed. His strong support was an inspiration to me.

Deeply felt thanks go to LexLuther1 and Dnitsch. They both selflessly volunteered to write Washington residents in support of me. And Dnitsch is responsible for creating my wonderful campaign graphic as well!

I would be remiss if I didn't also thank General Bastion of the Mobile Infantry. In his never-ending effort to make MI the best branch it possibly can be, he granted me an exception to the MI rule "When We Deploy, We ALL Deploy". He has allowed me to continue filing my Press Officer duties while stateside and serving in Congress and for that I am deeply appreciative.

So to celebrate, EVERYONE is invited to a special concert at Key Arena tonight. The Hold Steady will be rocking the house with their unique sound and haunting lyrics (they were in town to play the Showbox so I kind of hired them away, lol). Put party politics aside, have a beer on me, and enjoy some outstanding music. Who wants the first dance?
