1| Department Update

After talking with the National Leadership I was asked to explain more in detail what the point of this department is and what are the future plans. To start off with we shall tackle the department details.

The Census Bureau is meant to be the main point of push for us to grow our American Community so we can once more become the strongest nation in the New World. The activities the department will be heading is the external top list voting links management, general off site advertising and contest's to increase the amount of material to be used for recruiting new citizens to our community.

We have had three different Directors since the department was relaunched under Tyler Bubblars first term, this department has existed off and on since the beginning of the New World with the last incarnation being the N.A.S.A agency. We plan for the department to hire more employee's so we can start having more articles, new material and just a general increase of activity from the department.

We would love to go into the full plans for the future but many still require approval before we can announce them so make sure you check back regularly as we let you know the moment we can. However what we can say is that we are moving to a biweekly contest and voting for the second contest starts tomorrow at midnight. Yup that's right we decided to end it on Halloween night!

We are in the final stretch and there is so much room for improvement. Right now we have some solid entries but to be honest if you submit something meaningful it will certainly grab some attention. Remember even if your entry doesn't place in the top 3 you still have gold you can earn by simply submitting a valid entry. All you have to do is give a presentation for us to use showing why you should join eRepublik and come to America! ... the contest is open for just over two more days ... 50 up for grabs!

3| Contest Clarification

To explain more as to the purpose of the contest and give a better reason as to the existence of such contest's I have decided to end this article taking a moment to explain the reasoning.

The first contest was discussed and approved under the Leadership of the second Director Dave Gulya which was privately funded as an attempt to see what the result would be. After doing the weekly contest we realized it was a failure so we took some more time to discuss the topic with the various Party Presidents where it was decided to give it a second try as a longer and more in depth contest allowing for parties, military units and other organizations to submit group entries in addition to their individual member entries.

With us nearly finishing the second contest we have decided to make one more and final change to the contest. Next contest ( United America III ) will be a bi-weekly contest so as to give time for each entrant plus allow for multiple contest's in a single month. It will improve the chances of those participating and give us that much more material to use for recruiting new citizens to the community.

With that being said the point of the contest's are mainly to increase the amount of materials that we can use for advertising our community. We want to drive a new legit baby boom in our country and with an excess of options to choice we will be able to drive that much more interest in what we are and what we do.

When the department was originally put together it was discussed if we should do everything internally or give the community a chance to be involved and of course the best option was clear. We decided to rely on both internal development and contest's to increase our advertising material and although it hasn't been the best result's so far it still has had activity. The longer we continue contest's the more material we will have to advertise with and in the end we all will win.
