Britannian: The Epic Congressional Issue

Day 1,096, 19:47 Published in New Zealand Austria by Ludoviko la Nepreparita

‘I’m not a fan of the government doing anything, but why isn’t the government doing anything?’ – Stephen Colbert to the U.S. Congress

This issue has nothing to do with the news and happenings of eRepublik and eNew Zealand. The next ‘real’ issue of ‘The Britannian’ will be published on Tuesday (or around then.)

This issue is to announce my decision to run for congress in Auckland under the Peace 'n' Prosperity Party. Now, I will admit, I don’t b.s. people. In fact I suck at it. I just state what I believe and end it there. I’m sure you really don’t want to be reading incredibly long and sometimes boring congressional presentations, so I’ll be brief.

First, I am very conservative. I don’t act rashly (for example, I would never propose a random legislation, because that might pass and have a very negative impact on the general citizenry.) I also will ponder each time I vote. This may not seem like a big thing, but how many politicians do you see just vote for something because they are getting something out of it? Yeah, not going to happen I can guarantee you that. If it doesn’t benefit the nation as a whole, then I won’t vote for it.

Secondly, I have to admit; I have a problem that most politicians don't seem to have. I cannot lie, and if I do, I do so very poorly. Although this isn’t really a curse, I don’t believe in lying to the people that gave you the power in the first place. To me it doesn’t make sense. Which brings me to my next point.
MAKING SENSE!
Did you ever see or hear that something in the eGovernment went on and you were like ‘huh?’. Well, if I ever vote on something or something happens I’ll be sure to include it in my newspaper explaining it in plain English. Not this ‘ever-so-proper-English’ stuff.

Exactly...

I’m also very open to the public. As I am with my newspaper, if you see something wrong, tell me. If you have a comment, question, concern, random phrase of the day, send me a PM and I’ll address it (or laugh hysterically ).

So that’s my presentation. How about I start my platform right now? Feel free to leave me a comment saying what you think of my presentation and what I can do for you if elected. (That wasn’t so bad was it? )
