Boklevski running for Congress

Day 734, 13:33 Published in Netherlands Belgium by Boklevski

Dear friends,

Just a short message to announce that I will run in Southern Netherlands for Congress again, and I might need YOUR vote to get elected there! Being as active as possible in my previous mandate as congressmember, which I combined with being Minister of Finance, I try to keep up that activity. I feel that activity is the key for a congressmember, in-game and (even more) on the eUNL forum... if you are running for congress, please keep that in mind. When you're running for congress with the intention of being active, taking up discussions and initiative, I wish you the best in the elections!

I will strive again to uphold the values that are important for eUNL, which are also the core values of the BP. Still a lot of RL Belgian players are in the eUNL. Unity still is important. No eUNL citizen should forget that! There are also a lot of other RL nationalities: from Malaysia, USA, Spain, etc.. As our official language is English, and many people can speak that, we are a welcoming place for everybody. I want to keep it that way! Only together - all eUNL citizens, from all over the world - we can aim to be the strongest, most exciting and most fun country to play in!

Another point of focus for me as congressmember would ofcourse be Finances. I think the spending of the government should be limited. Ofcourse we need money for Defense, our State Companies, etc. But we should limit large spendings for the moment. Especially GOLD should be handled very carefully, as the current Monetary Market is quite fragile. GOLD is needed to balance it again, so every piece of GOLD going to other things - especially abroad - should be very well argumented...

... and yes, transparancy is still important. The Financial weekly report should be continued by the Minister of Finances (whoever it becomes next mandate). However, also in other areas, transparency keeps being important. For example, I highly encourage the Congress's newspaper (haven't seen an article lately, unfortunately) and the eUNL Weekly News (Ministry of Media). However, also less official initiatives, like the Ministry of Spam, improve communication (and thus community) amongst our citizens.

As a side note, I’d like to express that if I get re-elected into congress, I am open to fulfilling the post of Minister of Finances again (when I get enough confidence for that, ofcourse). Just note, that this is not a must: when there are other ambitious players who want to run for it, I’m ofcourse open to giving them a chance. However, if it is required, I am looking forward to continue to serve my country.
