Beyond party borders (and running for January Congress)

Day 764, 14:58 Published in Netherlands Belgium by Boklevski

I'll try to keep it really short this time!

I will run again for Congress in Southern Netherlands. During my previous 2 congress mandates, I have tried to give and ask for as much information as possible. Both giving (as Minister of Finances) and asking (in the opposition, and by things like raising the poll in this article), I have tried to include as many citizens into the community as possible. I think this is really important. Together we are a country. Sharing information and experiences with each other is the determining factor in this. Allowing all to give their opinion, to ask questions, and respect each other.

I think the coming congress elections, and the government following from that, will be very important for the direction we will go. There are a few very important decisions requiring government pre-work (and a referendum afterwards), we might need back our original regions Flanders and Brussels (but making us again more vulnerable to RWs), we will need strong allies, we need a stable economy and a stable currency, we need good coaching and recruiting, etc.

To achieve this, I think it's important to have the right person on the right place in the government. This does not necessarily have to be from the two or three biggest parties. I would like to volunteer as formateur in case BP "wins" the elections, but also on behalf of another party, in order to get the right person on the right place. I envision this as having all parties in the government. Yeah, it's shocking... just take a breath and keep reading.

I know this will require a lot of flexibility of everybody. Yes, GVD and BP will need to set aside their differences. Yes, LSD will need to work together with I&W. But all those differences are very old. Let's try working together for once! Working together for a better eUNL, looking beyond party borders.

It might be idealistic, it might be just a dream. But let's try it for one mandate and see what happens.

We are a UNION. Together we are strong!

(oh, and if you don't vote for me in the elections, at least vote for this article to support the idea! 😛 )
