ADF, we are still here
Send love to Plato
Well I am sure we have all seen the debates in the eAustralian media and on our official forums about the reforms to our national Military Unit - The Australian Defence Force. Well what we can reveal is that the ADF will now be opening our doors again, and if you are a young player under level 30 (In Divisions 1&2) then you will be supplied. With the ADF together with Centrelink your Government is providing you with enough help, advice and supplies to guide you through the first difficult and sometimes confusing times of playing eRepublik.
As of yet we are unsure of how much the daily supplies will be until our budget from those generous people at the Ministry of Finance has been handed down to us...but you will receive supplies.
As per usual you will be required to be active in two ways - First will be to complete the daily orders set out by our Commander. This order will be to kill 25+ enemies in a battle that has been set as a priority by our Government and to answer the ADF roll call on the eAustralian official forums, you can join the ADF section on the forums by clicking on this very sexy ADF graphic just below...yeah this one underneath this sentence.
The ADF will be open to players of all Divisions but obviously we are not in a position to supply those who are in Division 3&4, but that does not mean you can not play a part. If you are self sufficient and would like to help guide our young fighters by offering advice and help then why not join us and help build the tanks of tomorrow?
So finally thank you to all those who have made the ADF what it is, those who have unselfishly put their time and effort into helping run this awesome community, those who have distributed our supplies past and present and finally those who have served in the ADF and made us a regular feature in eAustralia's top five MUs.
We salute you,...Pillow fight anyone?
Comments
I hope those girls are legal!
Voted!
yeah! ADF back in action!
If Oz ever get into a pillow fight with Indo, you's look sorted.
Hopefully this clears up the misconceptions of the past few days. New players will not be forgotten!
I will no longer be voting for articles that use pics of females as a come on, nor will I vote for the sexual innuendo that seems to accompany these articles, be it in the text or the comments.
...I respect your freedom of opinion.
I'm pissed off they're wearing tops...
"...until our budget from those generous people at the Ministry of Finance has been handed down to us"
Generous people in MoF? I thought I'd fired all the generous ones ... tight-ass misers prevail in this department...
we love you Paul 😛
Of course it will be sexy, it's got Molly.
you make an interesting argument, pics for confirmation >.>
Voted for the pillow fight... Although I would have expected it to have redheads from you Hugh?
...I know, I'm sick or ill or dying or something 🙁
Voted! o7
Good article. Good innovations. Good God which member of the ADF got the middle pillow fighter pregnant. That's a baby bump 4sure.
Voted.. Its great to see our National force back in action
HAMSTER!!!
Just for you
🙂 I love you
Hugh, it probably would have been a good idea to make sure supplies are open again as well as recruitment, before making this article.. Just saying.
I agree with Lany. We don't need sexist pictures in order to vote up an article. It just makes you guys all look like 12 year old boys with your hands on your bits. No wonder girls won't play this game.
No vote. Unsubscribed.
Molly actually asked Hugh to knock up an article last night. I'm assuming people want to get the ball rolling early and keep people informed, rather than not say owt at all and just leave it.
Again I respect your freedom of opinion. Firstly it is a picture of a pillow fight that is openly available on google images and I rendered it. I Would like you or Lani to explain how it is sexist? I know if it had of been a group of young teenage lads on a bed with say...water pistols, then in no way would you have taken offence. Indeed considering Diet Coke adds regularly feature semi naked male muscular models topless then I am guessing you both are very busy writing to the making complaints to the national TV regulator/watchdog in the areas you reside in.
As for the article, I was asked to write it mentioning that supplies would be open and the amount determined on our budget.
Finally, no anger, malice or spite was involved in this response, I add that because the written word can often be misinterpreted and taken on the basis of what mood the reader is in...in this instance it is in good humour and respect.
Hugh. Don't pretend that the pic is not sexist and don't pretend not to understand how it is. You chose it because it is, and you can't deny it. I know how your mind works. I'm just sick of that kind of thing going on in this media and I know that others are too.
Molly may have asked you to make an article, but should have reopened supplies and the recruitment thread before you posted it, if so. I will message Molly to get that happening.
No, he didn't choose that because it's sexist (and I agree, it isn't sexist). He chose that because it's cheeky. There's a big difference. I get sick of seeing articles that feature semi-naked women...I can't see the slightest bit of boob on those girls. It's not sexist, just cheeky. I know Hugh better than anyone else and placing that image in this article was done without a shred of malice, ignorance or with intent to piss anybody off. It's cheeky. Not sexist.
Edited it, and no the picture is not sexist. The person who looks at the picture and posts the picture either see's it as sexist or takes offence to it but in context the picture itself is not sexist. if you walked past a house where six girls (DRESSED may I add) were having a pillow fight would you shout that it was sexist? No. It was harmless humour that you see on TV and in advertising but you both took offence, fair enough, I withdrew the image.
May I add that your article inferring to myself as homosexual is far more offensive that that image...but I saw it in the aspects it was meant in and enjoyed the humour. I did not take it as an attack on homosexuals and you believing that they should be publicly ridiculed.
Actually, on the subject of your article about Hugh...he's bang on. That's way more offensive to be publicly "outing" someone as being homosexual, and having a good giggle in the process, than in it is to post a picture of fully clothed women engaging in a pillow fight.
...though for clarity I am not homosexual, I just have a man crush on Fernando Alonso (Dont we all?)
...oh and you did make me wear a bra once...but I am strictly 100% heterosexual apart from the cross dressing and man crush on Alonso...
I didn't find this particular picture sexist, I've just had my fill of semi naked chicks in the media. I also didn't like the half naked pic of the guy OVERIORD posted on his article. I DO NOT sit and drool over men in any attire. You dirty old men have the entire world wide web to wank off to, we don't need it here.
Lmfao, you only remembered the bra when I bought it up, and it was cos of a forfeit 😛
I didn't say you did Lani, I said that there is far more 'sexist' material in today's media but I would guarantee you do not complain to your local TV stations or magazines with regards to it.
Personally I could find offence in your reference to myself as a dirty old man looking for images to masturbate to but i don't. Joking aside I have three children with autism who also use my laptop so I would never allow porn to be freely accessible or viewed on this laptop because I consider myself a responsible parent despite your accusations...and I use no other computer.
Yes, Hugh, I do write letters and make phone calls about semi nude advertising, it just doesn't do any good because the majority of the population sees nothing wrong with it. I have boycotted stores, spoken to CEO's and the whole nine yards. I'm not talking out of my arse here, your articles are well written, you don't need any kind of come ons to get votes.
Then I admire your conviction to your values. Look I do sincerely apologise if offence is taken, that was not the intention hence why I removed the picture in question. I will still state that in context the picture is not offensive and in no way in the article was any sexual references made or innuendo.
As for your dirty old man comment, If you can give me the names of any female on my friends list that I have offended or harassed before this article then i will gladly resign from eAustralia.
"Molly actually asked Hugh to knock up an article last night."
Judging by that middle chick it appears he's knocked up more than an article. Carry on o7
I already said I didn't find that particular picture sexist, it was just one of a last straw for me I guess. And I see no reason for you to resign from eAustralia, I wouldn't know if you have offended anyone as I don't gossip with anyone either.
No but you accused me of being a dirty old man scouring the internet for image to w*nk off over without knowing anything about me or talking to those who know me...some would find that accusation aimed at them just as offensive and insulting as an image of a pillow fight. For the record i didn't find it offensive because my humour is a little near the knuckle at times but If I am in the company of someone who I either think is offended or would be offended then i behave. Hence why I removed the image.
Yeah, I see your point, I shouldn't have lumped you with those I perceive as dirty old men and I'm sorry for that. I'm also not offended by the pics, just tired of seeing so much of it.
Good luck ADF with the new format. I think it will be a great success!
While I think this is good news, I still don't see why roll call on the forums is necessary, I never remember to do it, and there are other means which allow you to confirm fighting was done for the day.
Totally agree with you mate
Can you put the picture back? I didn't get to see what all the fuss was about... 🙂
A small group of fully clothed women having a pillow fight...
[removed]
Why did you remove a picture? What a pus.sy this guy is
I can"t hardly wait to join ADF!.Great article as always Hugh!!.Keep going on!!!.HAIL ADF!!!.
