A Statement from a United Empire Loyalist

This is a response to the Statement from the Exiled Patriots of Canada.
As a United Empire Loyalist, I find myself having very similar, if not identical positions on the moral principles which the Exiled Patriots. I, and others like me, find The Thiefs actions completely objectionable, morally wrong, and completely indefensible. Not just his original thefts, but his refusals to accept any overture to return to our community. I, and others like me, find congress’ decision to pardon him despicable. There is no dispute of the facts, or the moral interpretation of these facts, regarding the Thief, his subsequent inactions, and of congress’ actions, between me, as an Empire Loyalist and the Exiled Patriots of Canada. We stand in agreement here.
As a United Empire Loyalist, I and others like me, however, have chosen to remain in eCanada. I stated my position quite clearly in the latter part of an articled I entitled Am I an Ostrich Building a Sandcastle?. I, and others like me, will continue to do our best to build eCanada up, despite the presence of the Thief and his supporters. It may be, that we have to rebuild, and rebuild and rebuild, before our efforts finally take hold.
In particular, I and others like me, find it rather upsetting that any group, no matter how likeminded we are in other areas – perhaps especially because we are so likeminded in other areas – will now seek to deprive us of our overseas territories. I, and others like me, see absolutely no value to tearing down what we have already built.
Nor is there any value to discouraging and preventing new, young eCanadians from staying in this game, which is a large fear that, as a United Empire Loyalist, I have. Or even worse, that they become sympathetic to the Thief, as all they can see and experience is the efforts of the Exiled Patriots of Canada at tearing down parts of our Empire.
As a United Empire Loyalist – committed to maintaining our oversees territories and the benefits they bring us – I, and others like me, must find ourselves with heavy hearts fighting against those with whom we have so much in common. But I, and others like me, as best as we know how, will keep the interests of an eCanada and her territories as a United Empire – this we will keep as our primary focus.

Good article Wilhem, Sadly you will be a collateral victim of this. And I must insist on the unfortunate part. Because at this point, I do believe that all other option have been exhausted. Those who say we should remain and stay... Well that's how most of EPC played for the past 2 year, and it didn't brought much result. So maybe a new approach is needed on the matter. Maybe we will be remembered as traitors, so be it. At least it will serve as a wake up call.

This is a tremendously profound statement.
First off, they are not "your" overseas territories, they are the UK's territories and they were colonized by Canada through the co-operation and collaboration and unity of Canada and its allies. The values employed to obtain these colonies are not aligned with The Thief. They are also not aligned with any any government that that does not hold any such criminal accountable for their actions.
Second, it is ironic that you see no value in tearing down what has been built when the The Thief has torn down so much already. Look at how many people who remain in the game yet have left the country due to the destructive energy of The Thief.
Third, I take great satisfaction in this response because it is creating a "cost" where there was assumed to be none. The rebellion is off to a good start.

1. Yes, they are our overseas territories by virtue of our possession of them. eCanada defeated the British on the battlefield to claim them. They are ours until we no longer possess them.
2. Yes, I agree that the Thief has already torn down much. However, should we aid him in this endeavour? Yes, sadly many have left the country and joined other nations. Perhaps this has only emboldened the Thief.. and that the actions of the EPC will continue to embolden him?
3. I seriously doubt if there is anything in game, that anyone one individual or group can do, which will cause the Thief to change his ways. How long do you guys plan to take up arms against eCanada, and to what end? If you succeed in removing eCanada from the UK, what's your next step? Cause I doubt that will do much to the Thief's resolve.

@Wilhelm: I think you are missing EPC's intent. They are are not trying to change the thief's resolve. They are trying to reignite the nation's resolve not to capitulate to him.
There is common ground and common cause here. That is a start. The rest is tactics. Not unimportant: see recent article on Thoreau. 🙂

Is it EPC's endgame to return to those days?

@Addy -- The rebellion was started by Rolo. You have been unable to quell it for 2 years. Now you wish to make everyone pay for your ineptitude. You will always now be known as a traitor and having committed treason..Have fun never being a Canadian citizen again.
A kid on a ball team doesn't get to pitch but the team lets a bad kid pitch even if he is no good for the team. The kid takes his ball and goes home knowing that now no one can play. He also knocks out the power for the lights, and destroys the sprinkler for the field. He knows this will hurt the whole team, but at least the bad kid doesn't get to play. And the whiny bully thinks this will make the rest of the team respect and like him. The whiny bully thinks they will see he is doing the right thing and doing it for them. Funny -- some things just can't been undone. The rest of the team has lost playtime and unity. Their friends can't play against them in their league and they can't practice and get better and stronger.
But, because the whiny bully has a ball he can find new friends. I guess this whiny bully thinks that these new friends will think he is such a great guy. Until he does the same thing again when he doesn't get his way. And now kids all over the league will be picking up their ball if they don't get to be pitcher.
The old team has got on with life and found new ways to get ahead and methods to advance. It may be hard and inconvenient but they have a purpose in making it work and are glad to be rid of the whiny bully.

It's your team now, Rolo. My advice is you stop being such a jerk for as long as you are able, wrap yourself in the flag, and use your considerable energy, stolen wealth, and connections to try and insulate your country from paying an even greater price for your pardon than it already has.
But sure is interesting how that, even now, your instinctive 'contribution' to the team is to remind them that if they were to rescind your unconditional pardon, you wouldn't hesitate to going back to domestic terrorism. With friends like you....

I like using Rolo's own words, he's convinced me. I can fight against Canada because game mechanics allow it. The admins didn't create rules to stop it, therefore I'm doing nothing wrong. This matches with most of congresses views also. I'm innocent based by your congresses own words.

Rolo is running a one-man show now.
With him at the helm, eCanada stands alone. Why would allies work to return what they helped provide us when we are throwing it away ourselves?
It doesn't matter if Addy et. al have American citizenship. The perception will be that eCanada lost its territories because of the actions of its citizens. The funny thing about game mechanics is that they don't apply to human feelings of honour and loyalty. When allies perceive ours has been besmirched, our integrity in their eyes will be reduced.
Territories come and go. Just look at the UK.

I'm not calling anyone a traitor. Not the Canadian Patriots in Exile. I count you my colleagues, my comrades. Sadly, we've parted ways in how we've decided to handle our problem.
Plugson sounds like a conspiracy nut. So because people voted against different actions they are automatically "pro-rolo" or trecherous. Rolo doesn't run eCanada (at this point in time) plugson.
